I'd like to know the avg number of your hours you spend sudying/reading your skill for your job whether you are in or out of school. I am particularly interested to know that for those working in IT field. It seems like if you are in IT, and don't continue studying/reading all you can do is end-user support.

I keep up with important mobile technology-related news each day. And I also try to keep up with relevant work in the social sciences. If you're in a good job, however, just doing the work may keep you up-to-date on important topics. Also, I think one key is to have an educational background that's more than just vocational training -- because that gets out-of-date fast, but general knowledge in, say, computer science will always be useful and will make it easier to approach new sub-domains and gain new skills.
