I have owned my own gym for 5 years. I have dealt with so many blows. Since opening I have had another 14 gyms open within close distance (some have closed out since). Now my best instructors (both sisters) have decided to rent space at our local pool complex (2 minute walk away) and teach there. I am at the end of my rope.. how do other business people handle this kind of crap and not let it destroy you? (emotionally and business wise). I don't want to sound like a cry baby but I have invested so much into my business and when your life is your business, it is hard to seperate the two. Where do you draw strength and determination to keep going?
No wise cracks please.

I live in a family members house and I have been making repairs to the house. We never discussed any payments for the house, when I moved in the house was in bad shape and she told me that if I fixed it up then I could stay here. Today December 20th I get a letter in my mailbox from her stating that if I plan to stay here any longer I need to pay rent or be out by January 1st. The letter does not mention any rent amount that she expects for me to pay-is this legal or does she have to provide me with a 30 day notice?

France has for some time now tried to get its unemployment problem solved by having people work less hours. What has actually happened is that the shorter hours have created more unemployment because people have less money to buy things that other people make so the other people are now out of work. Sure doesn't make any sense to me.

My family is under a tough time now. We have 2 little girls, we just bought our first home, and suddenly financial troubles hit. I lost my job, and although I am looking, I can't find another one. We have this timeshare that we have to make payments on every month. It's frustrating because we don't want the timeshare and we can't even afford to use it. We need the money to pay our bills. We just need to sell the timeshare, but we don't know what site will sell it fast. Please help.

- I have no credit history at all.
- Will have a co-signer (good credit) for loan.
- After 6 months, when credit is built, I plan to refinance and take the loan completely under my name.

I know the interest rate will be higher if I do this, but at least I give my co-signer some peace of mind. I just need to get my foot in the door.

Will I be able to do this? Why or why not?

I received a note with my paycheck saying "Due to escalating food prices each employee will be charged $1.50 per meal per shift worked. This charge will be deducted from each payroll check based on the number of shifts worked.I don't eat meals there and therefore I don't feel I should pay for them either. We do not have an employee handbook and the kichen manager said this will be done even if we do not eat anything. Our previous policy was employee meals with a few exceptions to the menu will be free. Can an employer just decide on what they want to take out of a person's paycheck with out their consent like this? They have also threatened to deduct other charges from our paychecks like if we get caught using our cell phones, making innocent mistakes on food preperation etc...
