Facts: TP is a U.S. Citizen with some U.S. Income. He has a business in Italy (which if he ran in the U.S. would be a Sch. C with a net loss of 20k). He loses 20k in the business in Italy. Is there any reason he would not be able to deduct the loss on his U.S. return?

My mortgage escrow account covers insurance and property taxes. Are these normally tax deductible expenses?

I've read we're 8 trillion dollars in debt...that's a lot of money, yet it seems our economy is oblivious to it...like student loans over 23,000 dollars. I was curious what's to become of this, and with such debt, would we have to ....oh start over from scratch as if the debt never existed? Or we can't and the next generation will have to answer for it? I don't know much about the situation, so i'm interested in knowing what's up.

ALSO on my search i found this page....so i'm curious if that's a legit solution for the deficit: http://www.federalbudget.com/amendm...

I live in Japan. I must file taxes with Federal IRS, but do I need to file in GA? I have no property in GA, do not work in GA, receive no income in GA...all I have is my driver's license and I list my mother (in GA) as my stateside address when needed. I get different answers depending on what number I call.
