My partner and I are looking how to go about getting exposure and being able to get noticed in the community. We are trying to Recycle used appliances and other items that people would otherwise throw away as far as we know it has not been tried as a legitimate business. It is generally a picking up trash from the curb. We would rather see the public call us for free pick up. The public has been somewhat receptive to us although not real warm on the idea considering most people that are doing this are looked at as garbage picking bums. I along with my partner want to try to change this image and become a profitable part of the economy and in time be able to hire help we need exposure any advice would be helpfull Don from You Call We Haul Midland Michigan

So I put money in my Flex Account all year and I have some hundred dollars left. My employer has been taking it out of my check and giving it to the Flex program.

So the money is taken out already from me, the employer doesn't have it, does the Flex program get to keep it if I don't use it all? The answer is obscured everywhere with the "use it or loose it", but who am I loosing it to? It doesn't just vanish. It's got to be in someone banking account.

I have never worked at a restaurant before, and I am going into see the manager of a mid-scale Japanese restaurant this afternoon about a position they have as server. What should I expect as far as paying goes? Do they usually pay hourly, or do you just collect tip? What a reasonable wage to expect from something like this? I know it varies from place to place, but I just wanted to have an idea so I wouldn't be going in blindly. Thanks so much!

He's new at work. We listen to the radio or CD's in the back office and my co-worker was listening to rap. He came in and said to her, "why are you listening to that N-Word music?" I'm sure you all know what that word is. To me that is not acceptable especially in the work place. She took a huge insult to it because her husband is from Jamaica and for other obvious reasons. She confronted him about it a day later and he didn't even say sorry and just walked away. She had a run in with another manager and talked to HR about her so she's worried if she says something about this situation, it'll look like she's trying to start trouble. We all suggested she talk to HR about what he said but she hasn't and continues to bring it up in conversation with us. Whether or not he was trying to be funny, you just don't say certain things at work. Don't tell me to mind my own business because we all work closley and what happens there effects all of us. Any advice?

Over two years ago I had outpatient surgery at the local hospital. My insurance co-pay was $50. I think I paid it, but I just got a collection agency letter, so when I called the hospital they told me that they had done an audit, and that's how they found it. They didn't bother to send me a bill, they just sent it to collections. I have no proof that I paid it, because I use a different bank now. I just can't imagine that I would let bills slip by back then, so I don't think it was unpaid back then. What can I do? Should I just pay the $60 (they're charging interest) or is there a legitimate way to make them cancel this two year old debt that they haven't cared about until now?

Awhile back, I got a call about donating to the State Troopers. I was like "fine, that's a good cause" so I agreed to donate to them. After that, it seems I started a chain-reaction because I've been getting bombarded with calls from every organization under the sun. First it was the State Troopers, then it the Chiefs of Police, then the Deputies, then the Disabled Officers, then the Fire Fighters, then the Retired Veterans, then the Disabled Veterans, etc etc etc... I can't remember the names of all of them, but they all have something to do with Police, Firemen, or Veterans. I can understand these are worthwhile causes, and I was happy to donate to one or two, but it's gotten completely out of hand. My wife isn't happy because we are hurting financially and we can't afford to keep donating to things. I try to explain this to them on the phone, but they rarely take no for an answer. Now I'm sorry I ever donated to any of them. What can I do to put an end to this?
