On Oct. 1st I gave my employer of 18 years a months notice. They asked me if I was willing to stay through the holidays and make Dec.31st my last day. My question is this: Does working a full year in 2006 renew my vacaion time for 2007? I recieve 3 weeks every year. I have never seen a manual within our company that states anything of the kind. Please help.

So I work in a popular toy store. I feel like leaving the name out... just because. Anyways, I am miserable there.
I didn't think it would be so bad. But my manager is driving me crazy. She is so obnoxious.
For example, one of the last things that happened is I was really sick (sore throat, could hardly get out of bed...) and so I finally decided to call in sick. She answers and I tell her what's wrong. In this sarcastic untrusting voice she says, "You will need a doctor's note if you aren't coming in."
I never go to the doctors for being sick like this, unless it goes on too long! And since when do we need a doctors note for one sick day? I'm not going to waste my money for a doctor to tell me what is wrong, even though I already know.
But that is just one of the many cases of her being so annoying.
I am tired of seeing co-workers crying because of her.
I was going to wait until after christmas...
But I can't take this anymore!
Should I just get out of there? Help.

Somebody told me they once were and I didn't think that was possible. If it is, what amount of income would pay that much.

Well back in October I believe it was we got a new head manager person. His name is Scott and I have noticed that he treats others employess better then other ones. What I mean is that he is more nicer to them then others. In fact I am one of the people who works there that he doesn't treat me with respect. Just last week as I was coming in I saw some of our shoping carts outside. All he said was to me Hey Gary! Are you coming in the store or not? We at the time weren't not open yet for business. Well anyways I said Yeah I'm coming in. Well when I got in he didn't even thank me for bring in the shopping carts for our store. I am just tired of going out of my way of being nice for this guy our new general manager and not getting any praise or thanks back in return. Further more why should I go out of my way to be nice to him if he is just going to be mean to me in return?

Hi, when I was in Brazil I was aproached by some youths and they sold me something called coke. I thought it was going to be coca cola but it wasnt but I tried some, I was not dissapointed. This stuff was a white powder and it was £2 for 10 grams. It lasted me a long time and I loved it but I couldnt find the youths in time to buy some more before returning to england.

Back in the uk I tried to find some and I did, but it was £40!!!! for just 1 gram and it didn't have the same effect as the stuff from brazil. I am thinking of going back there and buying £100 worth of this coke and selling it on ebay, but I was wondering, why are there no other people doing this?

I work out of Los Angeles, but my company has been sending me to Boston for the past few weeks. Of course I get paid for my normal working hours, and have so much money provided for meals and expenses, but what about the time it takes me to get to the airport, the flight, and onto the hotel? And what about the week-ends I am stuck here. I was told no work no pay, same as if I were at home, but I'm not at home where I can take care of my things. I leave again this Friday evening after putting in a 10 -12 hour work day. Then there is 2 hours at the airport, a 6+ hour flight, and 1 1/2 drive home. I am an hourly employee. Am I just expected to do this for free, or is there some law out there to insure I get paid for my time??

I see all these ads about ebay sellers wanted, but then you have to pay a monthly registration fee for the sites where you get to stuff to sell! What's up with that? Does anyone know of any sites that do NOT charge or you to purchase their items to sell on ebay!?

I moved into a house with 3 other people in June 06, subletting from the previous room occupant until August 06. I was instructed by the landlord to give my last month and security deposit to the occupant who was leaving. When the sublet ended I stayed, but was never given a lease to sign (although I did ask about it). On Dec 6th, I gave my roommates 27 days notice that I'd be moving out on the first of Jan. I talked to the landlord and he says that I would be receiving my last month/security from the new occupant. I knew some people who were interested and was helping to find a replacement, until my roommates decided to deny my help, saying they had people coming to look and they would be making the decision. What if they don't find someone they deem suitable, or they do and then neglect to give me the last month/security that they collect from the new roommate? Do I have any rights, or can I take any action?
