On Oct. 1st I gave my employer of 18 years a months notice. They asked me if I was willing to stay through the holidays and make Dec.31st my last day. My question is this: Does working a full year in 2006 renew my vacaion time for 2007? I recieve 3 weeks every year. I have never seen a manual within our company that states anything of the kind. Please help.

talk to first year hires.

if you usually get 3 weeks vacation for every year, and you got hired July 1, you get 1.5 weeks of vacation for that calendar year.

i'm not sure about quitting, though. you may have been better off to take 3 weeks vaca in january, and then come back and give them the notice.

What time your company renews your vacation varies from compay to company. You'll have to check your company policies for this information. If you have an HR department, I would advise trying them. Or whoever is in charge of your pay might work too, since they probably count how much vacation you use/have used.

If you took your vacation in 2006 I would consider you paid up and ready to move on.
