Congress revived the deduction for college cost this week, but the tax return forms have already been printed without it. Does this mean the deduction is not possible with a paper return? Will the online return be updated that quickly?

You are 20 years old Almost 21. Has been on your own since 18. Has a job and is really responsible and mature. Is getting married in 7 mounths to a wonderful guy who works two jobs did have three, treats you right and does everything he can for you and to make you happy. You are about to go to the next step in your life. To rent to own a 150 thousand dallor really big nice house. And after the wedding start a family. That's a great life huh. One problem your dad is pissed off because the house is 8 minutes from him. When he gets mad he tends to not talk to you for a month. Bad mouths your soon to husband after he says he thinks he's the best thing to happen to you. And trys to control your life. Talking to him does not help at all. It makes things worse. As does sticking up for your self. Would you get the house despite of what your dad says and be happy. You have never asked him for money or anything else. What would you do?

I have two credit cards, one with no balance that is for dire emergencies and one that has a balance that will take at least a year for me to pay off. If I close out the one with a balance and transfer that balance to a card that offers a very low APR for the life of the balance, will my credit score be hurt??

Looking for opinions from those who have started working towards new careers in their mid to late 30's. I have about 10 years of well rounded experience in the IT field and I make a very comfortable salary, but I'm getting tired of the IT field. I have no degree at the moment.

If I wasn't so old, I would love to be a lawyer... Looking for a reasonable career where I might be able to take some of my current experience and wisdom and apply it.

I'm a web guy at heart; graphics, photography, some animation skills, programming, problem solving, server administration, network administration; but I can't compete with outsourced salaries in the web dev field, so I have to leave the web dev choice behind.

Any suggestions?

Okay, I posted this question last night, but I didn't get the answers I was hoping for, so I thought I should clarify my question. I'm quitting my job and I asked for the best way and if I was being rude to give her four days notice, b/c I don't work for four days...

Everyone said, "two weeks notice" Well, about a month ago I told my boss that I had another job that I had interviewed for and that when I found out about the new job I would be quitting and I gave her the option to "let me go" right then so when I did leave I wouldn't put her in a bind with the schedule. Then a couple of weeks ago after a second interview I went back to my boss and said you might want to go light on the hours until I find out for sure, but she insists that I won't start until the begining of the year and so she's not too concerned. It's not worth the gas money though for me to drive back if I get the other job bc I'm going home for the holidays and leaving college.

I ordered some items via the internet sometime ago. My card has not been charged for the transaction. Is there a limit to when the merchant has to charge my card?
I don't want to assume my card won't be charged, spend the money, and then get hit with the charges.
