I'm earning under the personal allowance but because I have more than one job, I pay 22% tax on everything anyway, which sucks.

As directors of a limited company, the wife and I take £24k each before we pay any personal any tax at all.
And yes - we both get the £5135 on top also !

assuming that you are under 65 than you wil be paying no tax on earnings of 5035 pounds in 2006/2007.you can also clain marriage allowance and age allowance than your income doesnot have to be 5035 pounds.

No tax to pay upto first £5,035 of earned income.................its true.

and its not£ 5000 or £5135 as some have mentioned.

not much I think the cut off for Tax allowance is around 5K a year. lets face it thats less than penuts isn't it..
