In layman example, the bus conductor does marketing of his service by saying 'this bus is going from location A to location B' so he is advertising, creating awareness, creating selling strategy, etc. for his service which is marketing and when you board the bus then he is selling the service to you.

Where as the cab driver will generally take you there as he is selling his service. As he needs to sell his service.

So Sales is a part of Marketing.
