Well back in October I believe it was we got a new head manager person. His name is Scott and I have noticed that he treats others employess better then other ones. What I mean is that he is more nicer to them then others. In fact I am one of the people who works there that he doesn't treat me with respect. Just last week as I was coming in I saw some of our shoping carts outside. All he said was to me Hey Gary! Are you coming in the store or not? We at the time weren't not open yet for business. Well anyways I said Yeah I'm coming in. Well when I got in he didn't even thank me for bring in the shopping carts for our store. I am just tired of going out of my way of being nice for this guy our new general manager and not getting any praise or thanks back in return. Further more why should I go out of my way to be nice to him if he is just going to be mean to me in return?

Keep doing your job and if he is really as scummy as you describe he will not be there for long.

We all want some type of respect for doing our jobs and especially when we do it well. Unfortunately, some bosses are the way that you described above. I went through more than 1 of these types of people in my working years. In the end, I finally concluded this.; I am here to make money and not here to make friends. After I adopted that philosophy, I didnt care if I was praised for my work or not.

I work in a manufacturing plant(20 years now) and we are going through the same thing with our plant manager.(He's been here for 2 years now) Our old plant manager knew everyones name and something about them and said good morning to everyone of us every morning.(all 178 of us) This new one could care less who we are and only cares about himself. It makes it kind of hard to do your job well if you never hear any praise for what you are doing right. All we ever hear is do more with less and the criticism that goes along with that. It is a proven fact that production goes down if you have a plant manager that is hated by most. I feel for you and chin up You don't have to be nice to him just civil.

unfortunately, he may have so much work that he doesn't know how to say thanks to employees to do good work. keep doing the best you can. eventually, he'll see he can depend on you. if he instead does stupid things, he'll eventually get fired. don't worry about it too much. give him a benefit of the doubt. he may not be too experienced doing management - managers need on the job trianing too.

he's prolly looking to get rid of you...idiots are idiots...you can either stick it out and wait for him to fire you and collect the unemployment while you find another job, quit and go on a job hunt, or try to find a job while you are working there...up to you but I guarantee you will do one of those things...unless he gets transfered, fired or promoted etc......btw...being there `10 years they shoulda given you the managers job...stupid corporate idiots...
