What is the minimun amount of money I have to make to be able to file income tax? I heard it was $4000 but I am not sure. Also, if I file income tax my parents cant claim me as a dependant right?

Hey everyone im in a horrible situation I reacently got laid off and I need to come up with some cash pretty quick . I have to kids to take care of all by myself . I travel 720 miles roundtrip (I rent a room and sleep in it weeknights only) every week for my job, while maintaining my old residence, relationships, etc.. on the weekends. Can I deduct this mileage as a business expense?

I sent a letter containing a money order to an eBay seller on Wedensday morning. Considering that USPS did not deliver on Thursday, when should I expect the person to receive the letter?

i am doing a presentation in crosstraining current employees instead of hiring more people and training them for specialized jobs. I need to persuade top level management that this is cost effective and more productive. sorry all for not being clear, I got saked from tip top bread company after i injured my back i have a disc that is colapsed they just said no we not responsible and thats it i await medicare to fix my problem, then if I still Iam not good then they will try to fight for compansation but as for the last two years ill get nothing John or the public service in Australia get treated like royalty

My husband is a Mexican immigrant and we were advised by an immigration atty to get a Tax ID # from the IRS for him so he could be claimed as a dependant on my tax return. However, I later found out that if I claim him with his Tax ID#, I will no longer be able to claim the Earned Income Credit, which I really depend on every year to get caught up on things with my 2 kids and their school expenses. So now I'm thinking I will just file as Head of Household as I have for years and not include him as a dependant. Do you think the IRS will look at this as fraud? My husband is here illegally so basically he is a non-person in the eyes of the government, so hopefully the IRS will not notice that I had filled out that form to get him the Tax ID # and now am not including him on my return. He did work for 4 mos. out of 2006 where they took out taxes & supposedly sent his portion to the IRS on his Tax ID# but now he is working for a restaurant for cash - no taxes taken out. I'm so confused

I have a good credit rating. This is a card I have used for several years as Providian. Washington Mutual is not interested in lowering the rate. Why should they be? I am debt heavy but can make the monthly payments. Where can I find someone who will refi this at a lower rate.

I'm very interested in changing careers and have been looking into becoming a recruiter/headhunter. Specifically in the healthcare field.

I realize the salary will not initially be that of a pharmacist but the standing and demands are forcing me to look into something else.

Does anyone know the best process to go about making this change and finding out the best steps to take, who to contact... or of any ideas? What are some of the better companies to start with if any? When I lived in the US 11 years ago, I had a bad check to a shop just under 200$ and I did not pay this.

How to make sure that any charges was indeed issued or if this charge is still valid ? I checked SOL and the check value was just under 200$ this corresponds to misdemeanor charges.

To the worst what could happen when I return ? I am not returning to the same state. Could they still arrest me ? The shop to which I issued the check is still there in that name. On the same day, I had closed my bank account also.

After 1996, I have visited US about 20 times but all for short periods of 2 weeks to 3 months. I never had any issues with customs at that time, but I never had to open any bank accounts or apply for cards or issue local checks.

But now I am planning to stay for 3 years. So could any one tell me what could
happen.
