i work in the security services arts and most seem senile and/or dumb as a box of rocks..can i slap them?

They are Zombies! Take a shotgun to work and a baseball bat incase you run out of amo. Do not let them bite you!
You can slap them too.
P.S. Only slap the ones that are slower thatn you.

You can't slap them because crap splatters.
