Well I know you need to apply threw the IRS, for tax exempt status. I'm not sure of what to do first. But I would personally call another non- for profit organization, I'm sure they'd tell you. They are in the business of helping people. Good luck.

You need to contact the IRS or go the their web site and apply. You need to be able to justify the non-profit -- there is ample information on the web. Once you have the paperwork done, you need to send it to the IRS with $500.00. It will be necessary for you to be very, very specific about what the purpose is, how you will attract members, how you will offer services etc. Good luck.

go to your local taxation department and speak to them first or go to there website and conduct a ssearch as to the requirements for what you want to do!
