I am in my first job out of college. I sell copiers and printers at an office technology company. I get a base of 24,000 a year and I sell to the church/school market. It is hard to set my gross profit high becuase they are churches/schools. It is almost impossible to reach my monthly quota of gross profit and a good commisiion check will be $700 but its hard to sell more than even one machine every two months. I know they like me at the company but I think that other companies that have reps in this market give them a much higher base becuase they know that there is little gross profit in this market. I am guessing other companies have a different compensation structure.

I have been running my small business with no employees for a year and someone told me that I could recover some of my money that has been spent on supplies to build the company and I don't know when or how to do that. I file monthly for my tpt license, and I think I need to do the end of year taxes and show no sales to recover some money.... please help if you know!?

If anyone can answer this and explain it in a way that won't make my head explode, you'll get 10 shiny new points!

I'm sooo bad at math! My monthly payment is $214, and the interest rate is 22%. I called today and was told that if I paid the car off today it would be $930.99. I had originally thought the car would be paid off in January, but now it's looking more like February.

How long does a average interview last?

The church youth group where I volunteer is fund raising for a charity. A friend and I started a jewelry business and are giving our profits to the charity through the youth group. Once the fund raising event is over, my business partner wants to start paying ourselves some of the profit. I want a bank acct because right now she is keeping all the money and I don't like that. I got an EIN so we could get a bank acct and a vendor's license. When I told my partner we need to charge tax she got mad and her husband said that since we're a "charity" we don't have to charge tax. I have been on OH's tax website, the Sec of State site, the IRS site to figure this stuff out and I feel very disrespected and undermined. Her husband has not done any research, he just has opinions and she listens to him over me. We cant be nonprof if we will pay ourselves later. Her husband insists we are a charity so we dont need to charge tax. Im sick of dealing with him. He is not my partner. What would you do?

This concern stems from a debt collector company that refuses to contact me with written correspondence after numerous attempts at contact - but still are claiming that I owe them the full amount of a debt I owed 4 years ago (in the ballpark of $6k) - and they are claiming the same debt twice on my credit report (one from the original credit - and one from the debt collector).

How expensive would it be to hire a lawyer? I would like to hire one for the purpose of communicating with them that I would pay them 10-20% of the total - as opposed to the 90% they want - basically because they are junk debt buyers that probably bought it for 2 cents per dollar owed.

Please let me know if you have any advice as to which direction I should take. Thanks.

If I haven't been offered the position yet (but think there's a good chance I will), should I bring this up before or after I actually start working? I have already made travel arrangements, so postponing my trip is not an option. Thanks for the advice.

I am about 1 step away from filing bankruptcy and I am scared. To anyone else who has filed, how bad does this affect you? I in no way want to ever get this deep in debt and don’t plan on using credit cards for a long long time but really how bad does this hurt you? I understand that your credit is shot to sh*t but can anyone give me any advice/heads-up, any info that would help?
Thanks.

I am 20 years old and have been doing extensive research on investing in Real Estate and Buying/Selling properties quickly. I think I know enough that I could start investing but for some reason I can't get myself to make the first move. I'm not sure if it's a fear of failure or what. I have everything planned out to a T but I'm having a difficult time starting. Any words of wisdom or advice would be greatly appreciated! Thanks in advance!

I understand that publically-traded companies are required to post their earnings quarterly. Is there a website that lists the dates that major companies are expected to post these earnings report?
Thanks.

I'm selling an item that one person has bid for already but it has not yet reached its reserve price (still at its starting bid and there's 4 days left). Someone else has emailed me asking if I'm willing to sell it at a "buy it now" price but I'm not sure if I'm allowed to do that if someone has already bid (even though it's way off the reserve price). I hope this makes sense and any advice from you professional ebayers out there would be great. Thanks !

My husband and I do not claim his daughter on the taxes. The mother gets to claim every year, even though we pay $310 a month in child support and pay for her insurance. Question is...are we entitled to claim the child care tax credit since we are paying 100% of the daycare? Or, does the person claiming the child get to claim this even though she is not the one paying it? Please, answers!! We are in Illinois by the way.

I'm about to place a bid for the 1st time on behalf of a client. My managing broker hasn't had experience with any HUD deals although our company is registered with HUD. I could use some more attentive detailed help I can't find. I've been showing HUD homes to a family. They've found one they'd like to bid on. I'd like this to go well for them - this is definetly a challenge for me as this will also be my 1st sale if our bid is accepted.
My questions are:
Do you get the inspection before you place the bid? Or do you set up the inspection just as soon as possible? We have viewed the home. It needs work of course.

Are all the general steps the same - do I need to order the legal from a closing company NOW... do yo know how that works?

If the deals are done electronically, how does that work as far as having the forms filled out in front of you?

Here's a broad, general question: beside being sure to write in my commission, what do I need to remember & be sure of?

THANKS!!
