We recently took a tenancy agreement up for six months. However, our life is being made hell by a neighbour and we want to move as when we signed the agreement we had no idea that the music would be so loud. We have called the police and asked him to turn it down but to no avail. Have tenants got any rights when it comes to terminating contract due to untolerable living conditions?

Property is on market for £150,000, they will take offers but how low do we go? What kind of things could we ask to be included if they wouldn't take less than the asking price? All so new, seems like a mine field!!

My husband and I are looking into refinancing to consolidate our debts, it'll pay our credit cards, car payment etc...the lower monthly payment sounds great but I'm afraid it'll be more trouble than it's worth. Does anyone have any tips, suggestions, questions we should make sure we know before we say yes?

It is my understanding, per my local SBA, that you cannot have an individual (i.e. a non-company individual) be an independent contractor. To the contrary, that an independent contractor must be a company. Can you confirm that this is true?

It seems that there has to be a legal way to create an agreement between a company (sole proprietorship) and an individual that treats that individual the same as a contractor - i.e. the company and the individual agree that the company is not held liable in any manner (unemployment, taxes, insurance, etc.) and that the individual assumes full liability. Does anyone know a simple way of doing this?

My boyfriend has called twice to cancel and he still has it. They will not cancel and keeps going on and on till he gives up. Reminds me of that guy that taped a rep with AOL when he tried to cancel that.

DON'T ANSWER UNLESS YOU HAVE ACTUALL LEGAL KNOWLEDGE. Verizon wireless is false advertising "unlimited broadband access" for a flat monthly rate. I signed up in response to that advertising, and in the store the salespeople also used the words "unlimited", yet they sent me a letter stating they are disconnecting me next month because; "The terms and conditions only permit internet browsing, email, and intranet access....Streaming and or downloading movies/video are prohibitted." They claim my usage is too high. They are canceling my service, not refunding my device purchase, plus I bought a $1000 laptop (elsewhere) to go with this wireless internet card and now I have to search for a new provider, and it appears doubtful that I will find wireless service that is as fast, making the laptop useless to me. They are screwing people all over the country. How do we all get together and get back at these bastards legally?

I recently received a letter to try and get me into a pyramid scheme. It sounds like I have very little to lose but I'm not sure. Has anyone done a pyramid scheme that worked? This claims it is legal because you are buying a product (the letter) with the dollar you send. Does that make it legal, or is any form of a pyramid scheme illegal?

She was being weird, rude, and laughing non stop. I think she was high. Should I mention something to my manager? I really don't appreciate coworkers calling me during non work hours (11 pm to be exact) and leaving incoherent, rude messages. What should I do?

I recently relocated to a small city from a metropolitan city where I managed a family owned company for several years. During that time, I did work for two other companies; I learned a lot from both in a very short period of time, and left both positions respectfully.

So now I find myself in this town with a wealth of skills, wondering how to get a job. In addition to my experience as a manager, I also studied Public Admin. and Communications in college. I've applied for two jobs that were interesting to me, and was rejected for both. I called one employer who told me that my old salary was a consideration. I didn't expect to make my old salary here; they just looked at what I was making and took me out of the running. Also, it was an entry level position (which I didn't know until I called), so I was overqualified.

I'm at a point in my life where I want to love the job; the money is secondary. How do I over come the wage/experience hurdle and at least get in the door?
