I am a Real Estate appraiser trainee, and I have found it to be very hard to find a practicing appraiser to help me complete my 2000 hours.Does any one have any suggestions?

I am trainee and about a year and a half ago I found a job as a residential appraiser stayed for 3 months and worked for another Commercial Appraisal firm. I did not get a job till about two years after completing my residential courses. As you can see it is took a while and I jumped from one firm to another.. My advice is to decide where you want to go in the profession; either commercial or residential. The commercial side pays alot more but is difficult to find a job and the courses are very difficult. Residential is easier but now the market is slow so the jobs are scarce.
My advice is to network via the Appraisal Institute. They have the best classes and you can become a member (attend meetings etc.). Their website is appraisalinstitute.org. They have job postings for every state and if you take classes with them you will be able to network with other students (most of them are either licensed or own a appraisal company, instructors are very helpful). The Appraisal Institute offers designations that are highly recognized in the business if you want to go the route of getting a designation.
