I recently received a letter to try and get me into a pyramid scheme. It sounds like I have very little to lose but I'm not sure. Has anyone done a pyramid scheme that worked? This claims it is legal because you are buying a product (the letter) with the dollar you send. Does that make it legal, or is any form of a pyramid scheme illegal?

pyramid schemes only work for so long. i was involved with one, (not the one you're talking about) but i never had the heart to sign up any of my friends. it takes a lot of cold heartedness to actually be sucessful in them, and you have to know a lot of people. strangers won't sign up because everyone knows in the end pyramid scams fall through.

For it to be legal, the product you are buying must have monetary value.
If you can take that letter to the swap meet and sell it for a dollar, then yes. I dont think anyone is going to purchase a single sheet of paper for a dollar though, so that is by definition a pyramid scheme.

I don't have any information on this particular scheme, but I have 3 friends who want to try it out!

Every pyramid scheme is illegal.

I believe all pyramid schemes are illegal. they may call it different things and eventually, the people on the bottom lose out.
