Actually the amount of people with allergies HAS increased, unlike what other users have stated (please see link below.)

"Approximately 40 million Americans suffer from hay fever, while 16 million adults endure asthma. Although genetics play an important role in these conditions, recent research is finding that higher temperatures and more carbon dioxide are making allergy seasons worse, stimulating plants to produce more pollen and increasing fungi growth."

And although the ban will never take into effect, I personally wish there would be an official statement from school boards regarding large amounts of scents applied. For students and teachers alike to be aware of others sensitivities.

One gentlemen at my University got fired from his job because he refused to stop wearing is Cologne despite a woman having severe allergic reactions to it.

Perfume and cologne gives me migraines, nausea, and makes me sneeze repeatedly. And unlike my other allergies, my medication does not prevent these symptoms.
I think it is plain lack of manners if someone overloads on application. It is inconsiderate and boorish.

Since when is there an increase in people with allergies? If your school came up with this, I suggest you ask them where they found their data. Furthermore, I'd like to see how they can relate these allergies to perfume/cologne. Personally, I'm allergic to people who smell bad, so I don't mind a person who likes to take a French bath every now and again. Whatever the case may be, remember: ALWAYS fight the power...especially if you're in middle school.

It should be banned from airplanes, movie theaters, doctors offices. Also, departments stores should not be allowed to sell it on the first floor. Old people are very sensitive to smells and I can never walk a straight line though Sears with my grandparents. I have to take this big detour to avoid the perfume displays or my 90 year old grandparents will not be able to breath. I do the same, because it gives me migraines anyways.

Many workplaces have banned perfumes etc, so schools may be the next logical step...
