Is there anyone from B&Q Blackpool on ere?

I'm currently employed in Massachusetts but have been approached by a competitor in California. I'm not really interested in moving but was curious as to see if a do not compete was even enforceable. My employment contract doesn't allow me to work for a competitor for 2 years but makes no mention of geography. This is really the only industry I've been in so I'm not sure what else I would do. It is a small industry though and everyone knows everyone. Again, I'm not looking to move but I'm curious as to the legal ramifications.

I know you have to be 16 to work there, but how old do you need to be to work in the bakery?

And what rate of pay do you get when you work at 16?

I have a checking account and savings account, and have really been thinking about closing the checking. The overdraft fees can really kill ya! I have all of my big bills drafted from the savings anyway. I would just have to pay cash for food, gas, and daycare.

I started with this company a little over 3 months ago. I came in here expressing that I lived for responsibility and that I wanted to move up in the company. To my surprise, they started training me to take over a big account that needs lots of special attention. I LOVE it. I absolutely love coming into work now becuase of this purpose I've been given. But, I feel like my supervisor is holding me back. Nice guy, but he and his 'pet' like to hand work off to other people and with my focus being more on this account, I'm not there to do all their 'crap work' when they need me to... So, he told the girl who is training me to take this account not to be giving me as much and that we were to split the work 50/50- when I could handle it all if given the chance. That way when they "needed me" I'd be available. This happened a week ago and she cut my work down and I have yet to see anything from my supervisor. What is going on here? Do I really have a reason to be complaining?! Help!

There are so many legalities that are "agreed" to on the web, simply by the user clicking the submit button. Is it possible to keep invention ideas online and freely accessable, as long as the user is required to click a submit button, and the legal verbiage states something like, "by clicking the submit button, I am agreeing to a non disclosure agreement...," etc, etc?

Seems like that should work. Any reasons why it wouldn't?

I heard of an employer doing a mass layoff via e-mail pink slip. I thought this was an agregious abuse of power and lacked common decency. What is the safest and most humane way to layoff employees?

I have a friend who needs to patent an idea he has, but I'm not sure where to tell him to go. I see lame commercials sometimes for inventor submissions, but they seem really sketchy and I doubt they're legit. If anyone has any legitmate well known places to recommend to do this kind of thing, I'd greatly appreciate it.

Which one is correct? Assuming that Dan and Mary are not married and they each have only one child. Please don't answer if you are not 100% sure.

Dan's and Mary's child. or
Dan's and Mary's children.

If they both share the same child, it would be "Dan and Mary's child."

Also, which one of these is correct?

He saved Cindy's and my life. or

Since Ive began working at my job (Im the only other employee than the owner) I have constantly found ways to make the owner more money. i.e. selling online and whatnot. I get paid salary and Ive gotten a few raises since I began working here 3 years ago. We have cut back on our working hours by over 9 hours a week. Now I work less and am making more.

But I feel like a slacker. This job is not that hard to begin with. Why do I feel like a slacker now? I dont make a lot of money but I definitley make enough to pay the bills. And now I feel like I need a second job to fill my time because I have the time to make more money. Is this stupid? Whats wrong with me.

I think I care about this job more than the owner.

Should I be looking for new work? I do love my job, and I don't work in the same office or even state as the woman that made the decision but I feel so cheated. They said at 23 I was not ready for the responsiobilty of the new job, but they didn't tell me this until after they already hired the new chick!
