Cardinal Health

Your benefits start day one that you work with the company. Medical, dental, vision.

In my company your benefit effective date would depend on your start date. If you begin working before the fifteenth day of September (for example) your benefits would begin on the first of October. If you begin working after the fifteenth of October, your benefits become effective the first of November.

The benefit start date isn't negotiable because the terms are set with the insurance companies that our benefits are contracted with.

I don't know about in your area- but SOMETIMES that is a negotiable type thing when you get hired... like vacation and pay, you can ask for your health benefits to begin right away.
