I know you have to be 16 to work there, but how old do you need to be to work in the bakery?

And what rate of pay do you get when you work at 16?

18. This is for safety reasons, the machinery in the bakery can be dangerous.
You'll probably be on a little more than minimum wage.

I would have thought they'd let you work in the bakery at 16, they just wouldn't let you use the instantly-dangerous unguarded equipment such as the slicing machine.
When I had a temp job at another supermarket many moons ago I worked in Fish&Meat. Those under 18 just couldn't use the circular saw until they were old enough.

If it wasn't for newbies like yourself in the bakery at my local supermarket, I'm sure I wouldn't get all the great discount deals due to over-under cooked/risen/sweetened/salted bread dough.
I reckon some of the dough starts out destined to become bread then ends up being sweet buns 'cos they got it wrong. They had several shelves of discounted hot-cross buns last week and it wasn't even Easter.

Technically 16, but you'll need a city and guilds in bakery, to be a baker ... that'll take you to 18. Even then it's not much more than minimum wage.

i think you av to be 18. but not sure. Tescos pay very well trust me i work with them, they pay better than most places for a 16yr old. depends on your dept you go into... on what you get paid. Im still with them cos of wage and if i moved into a full time job elsewhere i would work more for less.

I think it's 18 because of the bread cutting machine and health and safety ... but you can work in the deli or cheese section if you are 16 xXx

72 years old. And you get paid 100 Tesco points per hour.

The answer is still 16, and you will probably start out at minimum wage.
