We had filed a 30-day notice for an intent to vacate a premise, with an agreement on the remainder of the rent. some 5 days before the notice date we get a phone call from them saying "The waters been turned off, you have to turn your keys in now. you've been evicted from the premises." we went over to the premises to see if there was a notice or anything. Nothing. Turns out they were going in and out of our apartment in between our moving trips, and when they realized we'd transferred our service (which requires the water to be disconnected), decided that was enough to warrant evicting us. Now they're charging us over $800 (above and beyond the $350 deposit) for "Paint, cleaning floor tiles, a new toilet (that was reported broken to them months before, the reason we decided to vacate was because they weren't fixing anything.) .. In addition to, they've also added extra charges for "utilities" they needed to clean the aparatment. Is this legal to do?

Do you think 15-20 grand is a good downpayment for a condo? Also if if you have a condo, can you put more downpayment on it in the future? how does that work? I want to move out of my house soon as my parents are driving me nuts, but i do not want to waste my money on apartment rent so my plan is to get a condo instead...

I have a nosy co-worker who is always asking me personal financial questions about me and my husband. For example, when I tell her we bought something new she always asks "how much did you pay for it?" It doesn't matter what it is. Doesn't she know that is so rude? What do I tell her without me sounding like a complete bi***?

I work in the I.T. department for this company, and I'm so afraid of this finance director because he's the CEO's son, and the future CEO. I deal with him all the time, and I'm so sick of it. I get panic whenever I have to deal with this guy. What's wrong with me? I'm trying to stay away from him as much as possible.. Am I doing the right thing? What should I do?

I was hired under 1099 instead of W2. At the time, I didn't know what it meant to be on 1099. Realized that I was taken for a bargain. Plus the employer told me to work hard or harder than others because I am making more money than anyone else in the project. Found out that to be false later on.

Now the project has been finished. He's offering me another project again on 1099 at a LOWER PAY RATE. Would you ever accept a 2nd project on 1099 on a lower rate than the 1st 1099 project?

Also is there anything you can do about not having been told about the repurcusion of being on 1099 by the employer at the time of interview?

I am thinking of majoring in finance, the only problem is that my local school where i want to go, Purdue, only offers a finance minor in the management building. This would mean i could major in something like accounting and minor in finance. The only way i could major in Finance is through the agricultural department. The major would be called Agricultural finance. What should i do, if i major in accounting or managment and minro in finance could i still become a banker or earn good money.

Thank you.

I want to see my designs in magazines, but not sure how to go about it. Do i write to the magazines and send in a sample of my work, or just write in and give them my website. I have thought about phoning them up, but I am very shy. I know it would help if I was more confident, but I worry they may turn around as say they don't like my designs or that they are naff.
I am willing to offer a discount to readers in the magazines to entice people to buy. I notice that Wedding Ideas magazine has companys mentioned in it that offer discounts for a limited period of time.
Any ideas at all would be great,

I'm trying to get approved for the lap band procedure. My husband works for a company that is self-insured but they use TPA of Georgia to give approvals and handle claims, etc. They are really giving me the runaround on everything from paying claims to approving the lap band surgery. I meet all the criteria.
