I live in florida, I am an exempt salary employee. If I do not work 80 hours in a given pay period, can my employer dock my pay? I worked every day in those pay periods (no sick days). They were just shorter weeks. When I go over the 80 hours I do not receive overtime. What is the point of being salary, if it is only benefiting the employer! If this is not supposed to be happening what recourse do I have to recover the lost pay?

Thinking of starting llc where myself and multiple "partners" or "investors" contribute funds, and then purchase multi-unit housing, holding them for 5 to 10 year periods. My question is, to begin a venture like this, do I need any special licensing or legal representation (aside from forming LLC within state)?

Any advice or experienced wisdom would be greatly appreciated. It does not appear to be too risky if you select the right properties, but I am unsure on things such as;

A) Setting up early withdrawl penalties for investors
B) What I should charge as the person bringing this all together
C) Is this recommendable, or a formula for disaster

Thanks in advance!

I have not had much luck in my job search and an a friend suggested it is because of my previous teaching experience. Any ideas of how would that affect my chances of getting a job? Are there any negative character traits associated with former teachers?

ok last pay day our boss was late 3 days but does not say why. I suffered with my bills because of this. Today is we are supposed to get paid but he has been out sick and I really doubt he will be in today. There are 30 minutes left in the day and he has not even called to say he will be coming in late. But he had a meeting yesterday and was able to make that. I feel pissed off and I am thinking of leaving for that one reason. This is going to be the third time he lets everybody down. What would you do?

Hello Everyone,

I need your help with a tax issue. I'm 23 years old and I've never filed taxes before, and up until 2005 I didn't need to. I made about $15,000 last year, but I didn't file taxes. I returned to school this fall and I need financial aid from the government. So I am currently doing my 2005 taxes. There is one huge problem though:

$4235 of the $15000 I made was untaxed. Apparently, a company I worked for earlier in the year made a mistake with the number of exemptions I put down, and I didn't catch it.

How much do you think I will owe in taxes when I do my tax return?

I recently was charged 19 overdraft charges in a period of 10 days by this bank. I was totally unaware that I even had this so calle "protection" in my acccount. So I was charged a total of over 600 dollars. At the same time no one contacted me that my account was being overdrawn. I could have easily transferred the money from my savings. They refuse to return all my money, are these guys crooks?

I have a restrictive stock certificate under Rule 144 and I couldn't find any broker to sell it . One broker told me that her company policy forbids her to sell stocks under 1 dollar a share. And mine is under a dollar a share. When I asked her if this was legal she said yes,she can refuse to sell my stocks.And she manaced me that other brokers even refuse to sell stocks under 5 dollars a share. Is this true? I want to talk with a sincere broker .

I work at a place where the whole management is hypocrites. It is a formal dining restaurant, family owned. The manager and the supervisor steal money out of waitresses paychecks which the money comes from catering events, parties weddings ect. The supervisor has been accused of being a lesbian and cheating on her husband and rumors have been flying. ever co worker of mine has said something about it. well last week we had a group meeting all the employees per say. the head manager is a male and he was not present when this happened or else he would have done something on the spot. the supervisor cursed, threw things, told us we dogged her out i guess this is slang or something who knows but anyway. she said if she hears something about her having affair with a person at work she will knock their teeth out this is a threat. she basically threatened all of us. she said this off gossip 2 waitresses went back and told her what we were saying. can she get fired?
