I have a restrictive stock certificate under Rule 144 and I couldn't find any broker to sell it . One broker told me that her company policy forbids her to sell stocks under 1 dollar a share. And mine is under a dollar a share. When I asked her if this was legal she said yes,she can refuse to sell my stocks. And she manaced me that other brokers even refuse to sell stocks under 5 dollars a share. Is this true? I want to talk with a sincere broker .

Is this a company that trades publicly? Where do you see the quote? When did you get the stock--if it was before it was public the company might exchange it for registered stock now. You can also ask the company(that the stock is for) who trades their stock.
