You will still be required to pay your home states taxes, but not in the state that you work in.

Depends on each State but more than likely you are going to get drilled for taxes in both states. Can't live in TX and commute to Oklahoma to avoid the OK State income tax (as an example). The State you work in gets paid as does the state you live in. You can't even take an extended term assignment in another state without getting hit for that state's taxes. I forget the exact number of days but I think it used to be if you worked in a state for more than 60 days throughout the year, you owe them taxes as well.
