Ive wanted a tattoo for a long time, and my birthday is coming up on the 17th and Im finally gonna do it.
Im planning on getting a small tattoo on the back of my neck, right below the hairline.
My parents arent thrilled about the idea and its not like Im trying to hide the tattoo from them, but rather I dont want it to be in their faces. Basically, if they dont notice, the better. Anyways, Im going home for Thanksgiving (Nov. 22) and I was wondering if I would be able to keep my hair down so they dont see it.
I was told that you have to keep your hair up and the area clean so it can heal. I would obviously keep it clean and put some sort of gel to keep it from rubbing, but is Thanksgiving too soon to put my hair down? This is a first tattoo so please excuse the naivety to the subject. How do you go about caring for a tattoo after you first get one?
Honestly, what's the pain factor?
Any insight would be much appreciated..
Thanks!

I just turned 18 and im looking into getting my first tattoo. The inspiration of the tattoo is the passing of my grandmother on christmas day due to cancer. Im looking at 2 angel wings with her initials inbetween the bottom of the wings with a banner about the wings that reads "You Shall Live With Me Forever"

Will they do a tattoo on my upper back just below the neck if its my first tattoo? Will there be a lot of stretching to that area that will affect the appearence of the tattoo?

ANY HELP IS GREAT. ALSO, any ideas on what else i could put in the banner that might be shorter?

Thank you in advance!

I'm going into the dental field, in which I know oral piercings are looked down upon.. but I've always wanted it done, but just curious to see what a tongue piercing looks like without the jewelry.. so I can take it out for work and go unnoticed. Or is it just as noticable? Any pictures?

Okay here's what I'm having tatted on the inside of my forearm " Die Tryin' " in very badazz cursive.
It's just a simple reminder that I can't give up in life just because the first two routes I took didn't work out (college and the Air Force). Hell, I'm only 19.
What do you think of it? Do you think it would get looked down on at work? I can always cover it up at interviews and professional meetings/gatherings, right?
It's not going to be huge or anything, maybe....... 3-4 inches across on the inside. Thankz to all who answer.

Hello =)

So I'm a huge Beatles fan and I love tattoos, and I want to incorporate something Beatles related into a tattoo, and I was wondering if anyone had any cool design ideas? I have thought about a Strawberry, or something along those lines but I'm running out of ideas, so any help would be appreciated =)

Not sure where I want it either, but it won't be huge. Thanks!

I googled and yahoo searched for cute cow pictures. I am looking for something more cartoon-ish than real, but real would be OK too.

I grew up on a dairy farm, am a vegeterian, cows are my favorite animal, etc. I have wanted a cow tattoo for a while now, and I can't seem to find what I am looking for.

I know I can get an artist to draw something up, but I would like to be able to take in a reference picture.

Thanks!!

When I was 12 my mom took me to a museum exhibit and I really admired this painting and the artist's life story. I am in my late teens now and I want to get a portion of it tattooed on my back because I feel I have a connection to this artist and their work. I have studied this artist and I have wanted the tattoo for years now.
What do you think?

PLEASE consider that I don't mind that this tattoo will be "wrinkly and ugly" when I am old. I am okay with that, and other technical negatives of tattoos.

Hi there i went to my tattoo artist on Saturday to get the second half of my tribal sleeve done. The first part i got last week scabbed really badly even altough i used 2 tubes of Savlon on it. To be honest with you im slighlty confused because every single person i have asked have told me to use vaseline, nothing, savlon, tattoo goo, coconut oil you name it absolutely everything then you get other people that tell you not to use it so you dont know wether you re coming or going. Anyway i am very concerned and i want you guys to give me the piece of mind that my tattoo is ok ortell me if ther is something wrong so i stop using it. My tattoo artist told me to buy pile cream (Anusol) as this was the best stuff, reduces the scabbing etc. Well i put it on yesterday after i got it done and again this morning. I also washed my tattoo first. They sold both ointment and cream and i bought ointment. When i touch my tattoo whilst smearing the cream all the black is coming off, why is this??

do you think people who have visible tattoos are less likely to get better jobs than people who dont? i really want to get a "sleeve" but im currently going to school to be an xray tech and was wondering if me getting that done would give me less of a chance of working in the hospital.

I have a small tattoo on my left hip (a very dumb mistake that I made), and I was thinking about getting it removed. Someone informed me of infecting milk into the area with a tattoo inking gun, they said it works, they even tried it. Anyone know anything about that? And are there any other methods other than lazer removal?
