Here's some: The Tree of Life from Irish folklore (it often meant someone had "a vigorous spirit"), Ankh from Egypt, Koi fish or Phoenix from Asian tradition (Koi= second coming or change; Phoenix= rebirth or complete transformation) & (as you mentioned) the Crucifix from Christian roots (often used as a symbol of faith much like the star & moon/pentagram form pagan or wiccan beliefs).
