Tattoos - March 2007

I've been keeping it moist and cleaning it every 4 hours. The artist told me to keep saran wrap on it, but whenever I put it on and then clean it later there is ink residue on the plastic, is this normal? I've stopped putting the wrap on it because of this and because it falls off easily, and because its on my shoulder and I can't really put it on correctly. Also, when do I start with putting aquaphor lotion on it?

Tomarrow I am going in to get my tongue pierced, can anyone please tell me what it might be like, and maybe say something to make me less nervous? Thanks, lol! I already have my belly button pierced and a tattoo, how does it feel compared to those?

I'm wanting to get a half sleeve irezumi tattoo.. the typical waves and Koi with cherry blossoms possibly... I am wondering how long this would take to do. I will be traveling to Japan in a week and want to get some flash work done out there and maybe an outline started so I am wondering how long it might take for an outline, maybe shading? Just roughly is fine. Thanks.

everyone always says get a tattoo that means something to you. ok. what do you guys think about getting a tattoo of your favorite [insert whatever here]? basically, i wanna get a tattoo of the main character in my fav comic book. she's absolutely adorable, i love her, and i've liked the comic the moment i read it (which was a few years ago by now so its not a fad to me). do you guys think thats meaningful enough or pretty darn stupid?

Hey all, I went swimming tonight with a few friends, well anyway ive had 2 tattoos for 7 weeks and they were fine in the water and nothing bad has happened its just me and my friends are planning to go swimming every monday evening and im getting another tattoo next friday, what is the minimum amount of time I can be back in the water at, some people say 2 weeks and some say to wait until the scab is off, what do you guys think?

Does drinking massive amounts of tequila help your tattoo heal? I thought it might purify the blood and lessen your chance of infection.

I'm thinking of getting one to cover up another tattoo. I've had some varied responses as to the meaning behind a koi tattoo and a lotus tattoo. I'm pretty sure of the picture of the one I want but any links to pictures of more would be appreciated also.

I just got my first tattoo 3 days ago, and im curious on a few things. First, im keeping it covered while im at work, so my bra and whatnot doesnt rub on it and just make things worse or screwed up. Whats the smear factor.. and how long should i do this for work? ( the tattoo is small 4 pawprints on my upper shoulder ) Also, I've been putting A & D on it, which was recommended- and after 3-4 days i was told just lotion would be fine? Should i keep up the A & D anyways? I just am curious how long i have to worry about a smudging or ruin factor with bra straps and tank straps rubbing on it. So far so good i have great tanks for avoiding the tatt. Any common advice would be great. Thanks!

It's on the side of my neck and is about 2 X 2 inches. I don't have the money for the laser surgery so I was wondering If anyone knows a way to remove it. Even if i need to take a cheese grater to it I need to get it off so I can join the military. Any suggestions?

I have a butterfly tattoo on the middle of my lower back, it is about 2 1/2 by 2 1/2 inches. I really love it, even though I got mine for sentimental reasons, and everyone else thinks it is because I am the "totally stereotypical girl" because it is a butterfly. Anyways, the lines were really painful when the tattoo artist did it, so by the time he got to the filling in I just wanted it over with, because I couldn't stand it anymore. I have six colors in the tattoo. I really wished I got a spefic color pattern, so it wouldn't be the plain one I saw on the wall. Well, I want to add on to it, but I don't want anything coming off the sides of it making it go across the bottom of my back. I was thinking of a blue background or something, but I don't want there to be much line work involved, since I can't handle the pain. Any ideas?

I am dead set on getting a dandelion clock tattoo.... If you don't know a dandelion clock is the globe looking seed part of the flower. There is a lot of lore behind it, it is said that is you can use one breath and blow all the seeds off all your wishes will be fulfilled. Anyone have any pictures of someone with this tattoo already.. I want to get it so that seeds are all off the head and blowing thorough the air, I want it delicate looking as well.

I have a hood piercing and I would like to know long do I need to keep it in before I am able to take it out without it closing up on me. I had it done in July of 06. As far as it healing I think it has done pretty well.

i just made a tattoo gun yesturday and did a cross on my ankle. this is the second time i tried doing it myself...the last time the ink didn't stay for some reason. what can i do to get it to stay?
