Tomarrow I am going in to get my tongue pierced, can anyone please tell me what it might be like, and maybe say something to make me less nervous? Thanks, lol! I already have my belly button pierced and a tattoo, how does it feel compared to those?

i've got my tongue pierced. it's fine. i've got lots of tattoos and the tongue ring was the least of my pain with body modification. it's like a bee sting that lasts for a few seconds at first. then it's more sore than anything. it hurts a little, i'm not gonna lie or anything, but it's not excruciating, if you can sit through a tattoo, then this is nothing. just get some crushed ice before you go get it and keep that on it, it'll keep it numb so it won't hurt as bad and it'll help with the swelling. the tongue swells more than the belly button or ears cuz there's no skin to keep it restricted in it's swelling. Go to walmart or a local drug store and buy Glyoxide, it's a peroxide made for your mouth, it should be around mouth washes and other oral stuff. it's really great stuff. you'll wake up after a week and completely forget it's there.

i got my tongue pierced forever ago and the actual piercing didn't hurt at all.
1. you swish with listerine for a full minute, you can't feel anything.
2. the foreceps they use cuts off the circulation in the center where the needle goes.
3. the very center of your tongue does not have any nerves so it really doesn't hurt.

i was super nervous and almost broke my friends hand i squeezed so hard. now the pain from swelling the next day is a different story. i don't know why nobody told me to take some anti inflamitory medicine. i am sure it would have helped. i just sucked on ice cubes and ate rice and pudding for about four days. good luck!

well we obviously can't rely on yahoo answers to ANSWER our questions. anyway, my navel piercing didnt hurt at all (i didnt even feel it, honestly). so it hurts more than that. ive never gotten a tattoo, but im sure its a different kind of pain. whereas a tat feels like a needle scraping across your skin, a piercing if a much thicker needle being shoved through only once. it hurts for some people, doesn't for others, there's no way to know for sure.

having said all that, tongue piercings are not gross, disgusting, etc. whatever else people wanna flame them for. however, they're not permanent piercings. they may be long-term, but they can begin to do extensive damage to teeth and gums and all tongue piercings have to eventually be removed because of chipping teeth or receding the gumline. good luck!

I wante to pierce mine, but my parents wouldnt let me. If it helps , i have a friend taht pierced his and he sais that it feels as if you burned your tongue a little with hot coffe(its not like you are going to die)He also says taht you can kiss better and thats something good. For the first few days, you wont be eating any hard food, just liquids and any soft food. By your avatar, ic an ionfer that you are a beautiful person and you look very sexy(you will look even better with that piercing cause its something unique).

it feels just like getting a tatto, or belly button ring, just on your tongue. it might hurt a little bit more.to make u less nervous, take someone with u. that might make u think about more that person and not your tongue.

it is a little more of a hassle than a belly piercing because of the swelling but there are some really cool tongue rings out there. i carry things like spinners, koosh, chaped ones, and a lot of other exciting shapes.

i've had my tongue double pierced for 9 years. it did not hurt either time. you'll talk funny for a couple days, then you'll get used to it. then it will get tangled on a fork. then it will all be ok.

it's not bad at all, and it heals extremely quickly.

well don't eat any salty food and on the first day use ice cubes to numb the pain trust me it helps a lot more than you think also gargling with a peroxide mix helps reduce the risk of infection .

well it closes SO easy. like if you take it out for an hour its like already halfway to closing. it's crazy. and they used a clip for me...it hurts but not as bad as a nose ring. and it hurts more then a bellyring. and the first 5 hrs your tongue is like totally numb..well for me anyways..
