Does drinking massive amounts of tequila help your tattoo heal? I thought it might purify the blood and lessen your chance of infection.

People people people...

Tequila is purely for piercings. My gf reports that both Petron and Partida are excellent (Cabo Wabo will do in a pinch).

For tattoos, a good scotch works wonders. I prefer a single Islay malt whiskey like Bruichladdich or Ardbeg (peat good; yum, Uigeadail). Some report good results with Irish whiskeys too, and a friend is a big fan of rye spirits.

The massive amounts of tequila will help you forget the itching, and you might get so drunk, you'll end up scratching it anyway and ruining the tattoo. But the best thing to do is keep it clean, and use a very heavy lotion or vaseline... place a thick layer over the tattoo after every shower and cover it up with a paper towel (use tape to keep towel in place). This will help with the healing and scabbing that will occur in about a week.

Of course not! In fact, they advise against drinking any alcohol before getting a tatt because alcohol thins the blood and you could hemorrage while the procedure is being done. After the tattoo has been done, I would assume that you should still be somewhat careful, since it needs time to heal, and your blood cannot be too thin for that to happen.

Go to the drugstore and get some A&D ointment. Keep putting it on for 2 weeks. I think that's the easiest way to solve your problem.

No, tequila will do nothing to help your skin heal. But you may want to keep it moisturized. Put a lot of Vaseline on the area and try not to scratch or pick at it. Healing time depends where on the body you have your tattoo.

Well in my case, tequila has been know for it's pain deadening qualities. However, once I get buckled, I tend to start playing guitars like Jimmy Hendrix. Not as good, but with crazy antics. So I end up with a tat full of dirt, beer, and other various debris. Which, usually helps. You know, because there is nothing better for a new tattoo, than lots on infectious fluids.

absolutely! it's a little known trade secret. but the only way it will work is if you stay plastered for the entire two weeks for the healing process. you have to drink continually, even wake in the middle of the night to continue drinking. if you don't follow thru and at any time during the two week period sober up... your tattoo will fall right out of your skin.

Well deda, I don't think it works that way. Alcohol is actually not good for you.(Or at least not as a blood purifier.)My suggestion is to listen to the advice on after-care of your tattoo from your tattooist and you'll be on the right track! GOOD LUCK!!!!!

the best way to heal your tattoo is to wash it twice a day with anti-bacteria soap. pat it dry, than apply a little bit of vitamin E oil to it.

keep the area uncovered, but free from the sun, dirt, and lotions.

do not use an ointment on it, most of them fade the color from the chemicals in it.

may lesson the pain lol or depending on how much you drink and how many times you fall over may cause more pain tomorrow to go with the head ache you will have. but as for your tattoo it will still be there infected or not.
