I have a hood piercing and I would like to know long do I need to keep it in before I am able to take it out without it closing up on me. I had it done in July of 06. As far as it healing I think it has done pretty well.

For the ones who dont know what the hood is, its the small piece of skin on top of your clit.

Its healed completely by now, but I wouldn't take the jewelry out and leave it out. Even though its healed the hole can shrink up while the jewelry it out for long periods of time making it very hard and painful to reinsert jewelry. If you just want to change the jewelry, beware that its a pain so you might want to have a piercer help you.

It depends on your body. Some people will close up almost immediately, others will take a while to close up. My one piece of advice, hood piercings can be a bugger to get back in, sometimes, especially by yourself, so you may need some help. You don't want any of the skin to rip.
