Tattoos - December 2006

I am most likely going to get a tattoo on my lower back on the side...not on the spine but I'm horrified of the pain. The tattoo is of my daughter's profile with shading like she's behind my skin and I really want it but I do have a needle phobia and so that's the only thing kind of holding me back. (have the tattoo artist and contacted them and everything) but I just have to get the guts up to actually do it. Any suggestions as to how to prepare myself for it and what to actually expect in terms of pain? Also - another description besides a "cat scratch" - I've never had a cat scratch and so I have no clue what that feels like. I know everyone is different in terms of their pain threshhold. They told me 1.5-2 hrs in terms of the amount of time it will take to complete the tattoo....any thoughts? I just would like to hear about your experience with it just to know what to expect. My tattoos arent cluttered they are spread out all over my body(from the top of my back to the inside of my ankle) but I know some guys who think I have too many.

Ok so I'm thinking about getting a koi tattoo up my right side from my hip up to my ribs, but I would want to get something afterwards going up my left side. Any ideas of what would compliment it. By the way I'm getting the koi because of it's sybolism, and would want a sybolic tattoo on my left side as well. All ideas are welcome.Thanks!

I am ether getting a skull tattoo between my shoulder blades (front view of a skull)

or

a skull on one or both shoulders (side view)

I have a lot of interest in death and the occult but mainly death, but no in a gothic way. actually I want the tattoo I get to look as real as possible not any thing morbid or funny just a human skull.

so other than death do you know what a skull would represent?

anyone know of someone that will do it in the phoenix area?
mind you this is my tongue, so I wouldn't really want to get it done in "my cousin's brother's friends garage"

when I did my belly button I took plastic and the guy gave it back and used a metal one.
But isn't metal bad for your teeth?

well i am half german and half irish, i was thinking about combining the two flags, and then on my forarm have it look like there is a rip on my arm and the combined flags be inside of it. but if you look at the two flags it is hard to do. or another idea i had was, well i think that the only way to purify something that is corrupt is through destruction, and i beleive most of our world is corrupted, only reason i sit here and say my views is cuz maybe the way i see things might help some of you think of a cool idea. thanks.

I want a tattoo but don't know a cool idea to do. I want something to symbolize & honor my parents who died when I was young and the love I have for my son who is autistic?
