well i am half german and half irish, i was thinking about combining the two flags, and then on my forarm have it look like there is a rip on my arm and the combined flags be inside of it. but if you look at the two flags it is hard to do. or another idea i had was, well i think that the only way to purify something that is corrupt is through destruction, and i beleive most of our world is corrupted, only reason i sit here and say my views is cuz maybe the way i see things might help some of you think of a cool idea. thanks.

I am Irish with a fair amount of German bloodlines. At the end of the day nationality is really just a form of social conditioning.
I remember listening to a person once who was in Jerusalem commenting about an area he visited where all the boys playing football were called Mohammad. He went on to say that they were all probably brought up to believe in a certain god and to have a certain belief about Jewish people.
A few blocks up the Jewish kids would have a completely different world-view, belief in religion and outlook in life. All that was separating them was a few streets. My point is that we are all the same when you strip away your national identity. Maybe your tattoo should reflect that...

The best advise I can give you is not to get one.
People (mistakenly) think they are cool and that they are making a statement, but I've never seen a tattoo on a man or woman that looked good after a few years. The skin loses its tone and sags and the tattoo wrinkles and sags right along with it.
Tell you what, draw something on a file folder sticker and put it on your arm and wear it for a month or so. Get a feel for what this lifetime artwork will look like.

Something with that means huh? Well how can a load of strangers provide you suggestions which are significant to you? Only you'll make a decision what's significant, to a few folks their butterfly tattoos are deeply significant, it is simply no longer your style, that is all. Sorry however that is anything you must study and make a decision for your self.

You could have the artist draw a 4 leaf clover and fill it in with the German flag.

You should find a tattoo artist that you not only like their work but also click with. Then tell them what you are going for and give them ideas and then have them draw up a few sketches for you. That is what I did with my 2nd tat. I told him what I was going for, told him kind of what I was thinking and then he had suggestions. We finally came up with something perfect that I love and I would have never thought up on my own. Just remember to think it through before you commit to it. They are for life.

Why not get 2 tattoos, 1 on each forearm that way you have both flags, and they will be seperate from each other.

You should really go talk to a tattoo artist in your area.
It's their job to draw things up to help you get your idea on to paper, and eventually on to your body.
I'm sure they could come up with something that you will love, and they are always happy to make whatever changes you want. Don't settle for something that's "almost" what you want. It's going to be on your body for the rest of your life. :)

Saw a great tat...2 clowns fighting ...one is ready to stab the other with a knife and the other one is swinging a broken bottle at the others head.
