I just had a perm done last week, I have very fine hair and not too much length so she used the peach rollers and I wanted more of a soft curl anyway.....But I notice if I don't put product in it while it's still damp its pretty straight at the root for a few inches. even when I do put product in the curls within a few inches of my scalp fall by the end of the day. I didn't know if this is normal or not since it's my first perm--And since my hair is so fine I wonder if the oils will flatten it out.

I have really long, thick hair and just to blowdry and straighten it, it takes nearly an hour. I work two jobs and don't have that kind of time usually to spend on styling my hair. Does anyone have any suggestions of styles that can be done, especially with wet hair?

I'm only 28. I found a hair with some gray on it and pulled it out, only to see that the gray was a tiny patch (about 1/4 inch long) in the middle of the hair. Meaning that the hair was brown for a long time, then started growing gray, and then returned to growing brown again. Could that have been caused by a period of stress? What's going on?!

Like Aussie or Garnier, they all say leave on for 3 minutes but if I consistently leave it on much longer, will it make my hair shinier, softer?

I love my hair and take very good care of it. Its long (to the middle of my back), thick, dark brown with a sort of red tint, and its naturally straight and with some layers in it. I usually wear it down...either straight and parted to the side or I braid it in one french braid at night and its wavy the next day. I don't really know many up-dos besides the pony tail and bun.....any suggestions or pictures? Its just for every day wear so nothing too fancy please, but I would like for it to be elegant. Thanks!

I want to start oiling my hair to minimize the frizz. It seems like there's so many types of oils out there--jojoba, coconut, avocado, safflower. Which is the best one to use for my thick hair?

I've dyed it many times before, it's in an okay condition right now. I've been using damage control shampoo, and my hairstylist told me not to dye it just in case it might break off, because relaxers mess up your roots. But I really want to dye it, and I'm not sure if I should risk it or not.

i dye my hair black i do it at home with the do it yourself kind and i wanted to know if dyeing the hair has any negative effect on the scalp later on such as permanent scalp damage or hair loss and also can dyeing hair cause bald spots later on in life? and also i was just wondering if dyeing your hair lighter than its natural color damages your hair more than dyeing it darker than your natural color for example if you have medium brown hair would it hurt your hair more to dye it blond then dyeing it black? and also how often should i get my roots touched up so that it doesnt hurt my scalp?

I am on a budget now being a SAHMom : )
So in my cupboard I have: Organic virgin coconut oil, I have Extra virgin Olive oil, I have soy oil mayonnaise, I have a bottle of jojoba oil, and I have regular Avon naturals conditioners in my shower.

Do you have any suggestions for dry/bleached hair?

For instance do I heat up coconut oil or something?

There's a dark brown color that I really like, but the hair dye seems to be tailored to women. Is there any problem if I use it, or should I get a specific male hair dye?

Note: I'm a college student, my hair is black and doesn't have any graying, so the hair dye is more for cosmetic reasons than myself wanting to get rid of gray hair.

Why do white people's hair grow faster and grows down there backs and black people's hair dosen't grow past there shoulders. There are some black people that have hair down there backs but it is rare.
