If you want hair to grow faster or more healthy, you have to take supplements that work on your body chemistry to support hair's growth and strength at its genesis.....once it has grown out, it is just dead keratin
Try GNC, they make a supplement called " Ultra Nourishair" in formulas for men and women..they are HUGE pills and you have to take 2 daily. There is also a "Hair skin and nails" formula from Andrew Lessman that you can google, that has great ingredients and is easier to swallow, made by ProCaps labs. You can also take large doses of Biotin, sometimes called Vitamin H, take no less than 2500 micrograms daily to support healthy hair growth. It may take 6 to 8 weeks to see results.
have taken the GNC pills for 4 months and supplemented them with extra Biotin because they only have 1200 mcg of Biotin and you should try for a minimum of 2500 micrograms.

I am switching to Procaps labs capsules when I run out of the GNC because Procaps formula has more Biotin in a more pure form with more of the trace elements that support healthy hair growth.

I take about 5000 micrograms which equals 5 milligrams of Biotin daily and my hair is growing fast and thick and dark.

Don't listen to that nasty & hateful fool talking about braid your hair really tight. She wants the rest of your hair to fall out. Try doing a hot oil treatment every week before you shampoo and massage an essential oil {jojoba, olive, coconut, tea-tree} in your hair and scalp about three times a week. You can do this when your hair is damp or dry, not wet. Moisturizing and conditioning are key to our hair growth. If you do hot-oil, use a deep or leave-in conditioner, keep oils/moisturizers in your thirsty hair & scalp, don't use too much heat and only relax (if you relax) every 8 weeks--it should grow to your waiste or butt again but it will take time: Hair only grows 1/4--1/2 inch a month, and you may get an inch during certain months if you're lucky enough and taking really good care of your hair. Also make sure your hair products contain protein (mainly your conditioner) OR do a protein treatment once during the month. Some women get trims every 6-8 weeks, but many of us do it only 3-4 times a year as needed. Despite what some licensed stylists that want your money say, you can cut off split ends when you spot them AND still retain your hair length.

To get your hair long again, you need to insure that you keep what you have from getting dammaged (do not brush when wet, but use a wide tooth comb instead, condition, keep your hair clean, but not over wash it, don`t over do it with products like hairspray etc.and stay away from chlorine and heated styling aides)
But because hair is dead, and it is the root that is alive, healthy hair begins at the root, so to insure growth, you must keep yourself heathy (eat well, etc)
There is nothing you can do to make it grow faster except keeping yourself healthy as hair growth depends on health and on your genes (hereditary). Cutting your hair will not make it grow faster, nor will using certain shampoos, etc. What that does is get rid of dammage and prevent dammage which can hurt the health of your hair such as split ends, which can split up the hair shaft.
Have patience, and good luck!!

Vitamins, specifically E will help. Don't cut out the bubble gum next time, you can use a dry powder of some kind to isolate it or ice to freeze the gum until brittle and then just break the gum off.

Vitamins and time are really the only thing that works.

Good luck, and sorry about the gum.

leave it alone, by pulling, combing, tugging anything that put strained on your hair it will take long to grow. By pulling your hair it damage your hair root and you head must heal that before it can produce more hair.
