I'm only 28. I found a hair with some gray on it and pulled it out, only to see that the gray was a tiny patch (about 1/4 inch long) in the middle of the hair. Meaning that the hair was brown for a long time, then started growing gray, and then returned to growing brown again. Could that have been caused by a period of stress? What's going on?!

This is true, stress can cause people to grow gray hair, just like a tragic lifechanging horrible fearful moment, like your worst fear in life, can make your hair turn white.

There is some truth to that, but it's not scientifically proven. Gray hair could be genetic or you have less melanin in your body.
