When i was little i loved to act but no school i ever went to held plays or drama classes/clubs. (except this one time when i signed up but i was already in basketball and so they wouldnt let me join, but that was only one year when my school did a play) I live in a boring old city where auditons and things are never held. So i know i will have to work extra hard because i dont like in like hollywood or something. I really want to become an actor. Hopefully, my new high school will have a good drama class/club. Please help. I dont care if its a drama, comedy, triller, etc. oh btw i live in springfield, mass (probably never heard of it)

hey everyone. Since I was a young kid my dream has been to become an actor. Due to my family's influence on me I've grown to be a hopeless guy focusing on other things like going to the army or becoming a police officer. However, my wish to become an actor/movie star has never left the back of my mind. Please tell me what I should do to begin. I know its not easy at all but I will never give up after I take the first step... I just don't know which step should be the first one.

Do you think they want to look that different than their 'photoshoped and overly perfect looking' headshots, or is it a thing where they are trying to show the director at the audition what the possibilities are for their face on film?

Anyone have some good insight here?

Am i the only one that does not like High School Musical 2? I dont mean to offend anybody who loves it but this is my opion: there is no point to the movies, they can not sing very well, & the whole concept of it is cheesy. Seriously everybody goes around sying how great it is and i just want to scream!! A real musical is RENT, Wicked Spring Awaking. Agin i dont want to hurt anybody's feelings. So does anybody else not like High School Musical 1 & 2? Our am i the only one??

I have about a billion questions on everything acting. Here's one:
Head shots? So I've learned you want serious head shots for movies and big smiles or commercials but here's my questions. In a smiley one do you want it to look like an annual photo? I saw one that was a guy in a shopping cart.. Do I want a picture of my face or my shoulders up? In a serious one, should I be looking at the camera or like.. doing something. Looking into space? haha. I guess I'm kind of naive. I'm used to the theater side of things. If it's a shoulder up kind of thing then do I want my clothes to be nice and all or does a T-shirt work better? Are all headshots black and white?

We are traveling to NYC and want purchase 7 tickets(9-21-07) to Curtains at the Hirschfeld Theatre, New York NY. I've never been to the theatre. I feel more comfortable talking to someone on the phone who can tell me the exact seats I would be getting. I want to pay somewhere close to face value. Some brokers seem to be 3-4xs that price.

I am thinking about trying out for Urinetown at a local theater and was wondering what some good roles for women are in the show. I got the soundtrack, but I'm still not that familiar with the story. I have a pretty wide vocal range. What are some fun parts for women to play and a character description would be great too. Thanks! (Also, if you're familiar with both shows which would be better to try out for, Urinetown or Man of La Mancha?)
