Am i the only one that does not like High School Musical 2? I dont mean to offend anybody who loves it but this is my opion: there is no point to the movies, they can not sing very well, & the whole concept of it is cheesy. Seriously everybody goes around sying how great it is and i just want to scream!! A real musical is RENT, Wicked Spring Awaking. Agin i dont want to hurt anybody's feelings. So does anybody else not like High School Musical 1 & 2? Our am i the only one??

I've never seen either one and don't have any desire to either.

You have to know that if you bash HSM here you're going to get attacked by 10 year olds ;-)
Yes it's cheesy, but at least it's good clean fun. Honestly I still haven't been able to sit all the way through the first one (movie version), but I'm sure I will at some point. I'm going to try hard to sit through the subsequent ones as well. I tried Friday but I couldn't do it for more than 5 minutes.
My teenager really didn't like the movie, but she just did the stage version and as chesy as it was she had a great time doing it. I think you do have to just take it for what it is. Anything that keeps my 3 year old nieces entertained can't be all that bad ;-)
I agree with you that it's nothing like Rent, Wicked, etc. but I honestly don't think you can compare them. They're not even in the same catergory.
good luck with the other answers you're bound to get!

Zac Efron can't dance or sing.
I was trying to explain that to my stepdaughter on Friday night. She had told me he didn't sing in the first movie, but had taken lessons or something so he could sing in this one.
I pointed out that practically every time he sang, there was some loud girl beside him drowning him out. That was done on purpose. If he took voice lessons, he needs more of them.
And when the camera focuses on his head and shoulders during a dance routine, it's because they don't dare show too much of his footwork. I pointed out to her that the boys in the movie who REALLY knew how to dance were filmed below the waist as well as above.
The movie overall reminded me of a cross between "Beach Blanket Bingo" and "Dirty Dancing". Just not as good. And that's saying something, because those movies weren't very good at all.

Well I guess it depends on how old you are. My 12 year old sister and 13 year old niece liked them so I guess its fine for them and I thought they were ok....not something I would watch again and again but it was a cute little story for the wonderful minds of preteens. I think it gives them a glimmer of hope in the awful world. I mean at least they can pretend that school life is fun and full of joy....Did you ever think that maybe it was mostly for fun and not to be picked apart by people who are too old to be watching it anyway....Take it for what it is....a kids movie and grow up!
OK look sweet heart I don't care what you have to say, you did not offend me I was simply telling you that if you don't like the preteen movie on the preteen channel maybe you should watch something that is not dedicated to preteens! Watch the discovery channel or something educational and if you didn't want my opinion you shouldn't ask...I know that you didn't ask me directly but I can put my two cent in if I want.

I agree with you. In my opinion, there's nothing worse than Disney Channel stars. Anyone who is on one of their shows gets a record contract even though they can't act and much less, sing.
