I'm 15 years old (a bit too mature for my age) and have already done a handful of theatre productions, yet I want to at least have one attempt at the big screen. My parents know I am gifted in acting, but they also know I am gifted in academics, and want me to pursue my life with a meaningful career. I want to secretly look for auditions to prove them wrong, but it’s hard doing this by yourself on the internet, because you don’t know who to trust. I don't want to invest in an agent or register in an audition bulletin to not raise the suspicion of my parents, yet I know there is little else I can do. I'm not a child with an impossible dream, and not full of myself. My drama teacher is helping me find auditions too, and my community has faith in my skills. It’s just really hard making that first step. Is there anyone in this world that can help me expose my talents?

right, i am 16 (very newly) i have left school and am just about to start college in september. I will not be studying acting at college. At the moment i have a real fascination in the film acting industry, granted this is a new fascination. The reason being after seeing many interviews with young acomplished actors/ actresses they have all said that they dearly enjoy their jobs and i can see exactly why. I know that a few answers will say that this is a mere fad etc and that i should start out at a local theatre etc and i accept this. But i would like to ask of others exeriences and thoughts on the matter.

So my question is how do you think i should go about pathing a career in the british film industry? and please be fully open and share all your thoughts! :D.. thanks you and hopefully i shall receive some good answers!

Sorry, if this question seems obvious, but I'm being serious. All actors seem the same to me. But I've heard people say that certain actors/actresses were bad. I've heard people say Orlando Bloom was "wooden" and only an actor because of his looks. My question is: what makes someone a bad actor/actress? Or what makes an actor good or Academy Award worthy?

So, anyone whose read my other questions or my info, you'd know that my dream is to get into acting in screen plays. So, yesterday I told my mom for the second time that I want to start being like a child movie star. And she had to bring in reason. She reminded me that very few people actually make it into big time movies and the rest are leftovers who are left with being extras in films. Now, I have zero expirience in acting but- I have been in a few of my brothers home movies and I've been playing pretend since I was in kindergarten. I practice acting facial expressions in mirrors and do little things to make sure I don't look into the camera by making sure that in an entire day I never look in a mirror. So, help me out, does what I just described sound like I could be an actor in screne plays?

I recently auditioned for a local theatre's production of CATS ... and I felt I did pretty well. I sang well (no mess-ups) and the dance audition (though it was freaking hard!) went fine as well.

However, I checked the callback listing online, and lo and behold, I'm not called back! Very upsetting ....

There is this note, however, listed at the top of the page:

"If you are not on this list, it does not mean that you are not cast in the show, and does not necessarily mean that you will not be cast in one of these roles. There are many decisions left to make about the exact male/female balance and dancing/singing balance that we want, and that process includes many people not listed here."

So what do yall think? Is this just an appeasement to people not called back so they don't get their feelings hurt? Or is it a legitimate statement? Do you think someone could still get a lead without a callback? Let me know what you think! :)

I asked this question a couple months ago and I got a lot of answers. Now I'm more familiar with RENT, A Chorus Line, Wicked, Avenue Q, Fiddler on the Roof, Annie, The Producers, Dreamgirls, Chicago, Hairspray, Oliver, and more...

Which ones are your favorite and what others do you recommend that aren't already on the list above?
