I'm an actress and I would to create my own website. I want to be able to put on it songs, pics, videos, slideshow, resume, links, etc. I already know about myspace and facebook but I also want my very own. Any suggestions that won't cost an arm and a leg or free? Tips? Any help would be so great.

It seems like most people these days are making use of MySpace and all the tools available for that. Many actors have websites through that as well as official sites away from that, but there are tons of free tools available for MySpace where you can put a slide show, post videos, and everything that you mentioned and all free of charge. You can also choose to put that you are there for acting through the 'networking' feature though I doubt that really helps anything. The caveat here is that like the other poster said, this is not going to get you noticed. People will not come looking for your site until you are already notable enough for people to search you out. On the other hand if you just want a place to post all your stuff, that can be it but if you're underage you really should think twice or three times and get your parents permission to do something so open to the public. That kind of thing leaves you very exposed especially putting a resume with contact information in the public domain. Not a very smart idea... Be sure that you know exactly what you are doing before you proceed.

good luck

I'd like to go the same, for different reasons. But let's talk about why you want to do this. If it is to attract the attention of agents and casting directors, I doubt that it will help. Better to stick to the old tried and true ways. I teach young people how to have a career in acting. Write me at kencosp@aol.com and ask me anything about acting. My advice is free.
