right, i am 16 (very newly) i have left school and am just about to start college in september. I will not be studying acting at college. At the moment i have a real fascination in the film acting industry, granted this is a new fascination. The reason being after seeing many interviews with young acomplished actors/ actresses they have all said that they dearly enjoy their jobs and i can see exactly why. I know that a few answers will say that this is a mere fad etc and that i should start out at a local theatre etc and i accept this. But i would like to ask of others exeriences and thoughts on the matter.

So my question is how do you think i should go about pathing a career in the british film industry? and please be fully open and share all your thoughts! :D.. thanks you and hopefully i shall receive some good answers!

I wish I was your age again as I could do what I am about to advise you.

Get yourself into some drama clubs and any other drama/acting clubs there are local to you. The reason I am telling you this, is because you need to see if it is for you and if you are any good at it. Also it will give you good experience. When you are about to turn 18, apply to a really good acting college such as RADA or LAMDA. (Look them up on the internet if you are the UK). If you are really good you will get in. You will spend 2 to 3 years in there and it will set you up to get into film acting. There's no guarantee you will get a job afterwards, but put it this way, you won't have a hope in hell without attending a drama school of some sort as its so competitive out there. Unfortunately, only the best succeed, but thats what being a film actor is all about. Finally, call up a drama school and ask for advice, it will be invaluable information. Good luck.

There are loads of different spells that work for becoming a mermaid, here is the one I know best: 1) Get a Pisces flower. This is a special kind of flower, with seven almond shaped petals that are sea-green. You should be able to find it under water, about a quarter of a mile from shore. When you have it, smash it into pulp and mix that pulp with fresh sea water. Leave out in the full moon's shine overnight. 2) Eat that mixture, and close your eyes. DO NOT OPEN THEM. 3) Walk to the sea, still with your eyes closed. On the way, repeat this mermaid chant: Iv A Von, Sartis, Menamon, Sartis. Iv A Von, Menamon, Jagsta, Kestar, Sartis. Iv A Von, Sartis, Menamon, Sartis. Iv A Von, Venamon, Casta, Mex. 4) When you feel your get touching the sea water, keep on going until you are completely submerged. Open your eyes. Whatever you do, don't resurface until your sight darkens completely. Your legs will feel numb and you will feel tired, but don't worry, this is the process of becoming a mermaid. When you wake up, well. You'll see. ;)

Sorry, but much the same answer. Do drama at college, Btec National Diploma's a great start, work hard and stay focussed on your eventual goal.
It's not going to be easy. In Sept 2005, one of my greatest friends joined RADA. He was one of only thirty chosen out of about 30,000.
They tend to get a lot of applications from 18/19 year olds so you might want to take a couple of years out after college, get a job, do a bit of amateur theatre (including back stage stuff), go to the theatre as often as you can, read plenty of plays, subscribe to 'The Stage', do 'extra' work - anything at all which brings you nearer your goal.
If you do all this, RADA (and any other reputable drama school) will see before them a more 'rounded' person. Plus you'll be in an age group where applications are fewer, giving you more of a chance (they try to build a 'company' and need diversity. A group of only 18/19 year olds is more static than a varied age group.
The only other things you need are plenty of talent, no ego, a sense of humour and professionalism.
Incidentally (and you did ask for honesty), you might want to examine your reasons for wanting to be an actor. Any one after fame and fortune will fail a drama school interview/audition. It has to be in your blood. It has to be the 'be all' and 'end all' of your life. Any less than this? You'll be found out straight away and shown the door.
If any of this puts you off, think carefully about your next step. If in doubt, speak to your tutors/college counsellor

Start off by changing your college course to film studies, or drama. Get involved in acting at a local level, in local theatre companies etc. be prepared to work hard, for years, without much success. you MAY be discovered early on, but you may not. Many great British film actors and actresses honed their craft in the theatre.

Well Me, being an actor in many movies, say that the first thing to do is get an agent. This way you will be informed if any auditions for acting parts will be available. I think its great that you are an aspiring actress, and that you are taking acting at your collage. However, in order to ever find a part, you do need to step out of the box. Acting takes lots of traveling, to different parts of he world. So when you get breaks from school, pack up and head on out to go see what parts you can find! Great luck, hopefully I will see you in a movie one day!

Study drama in school, auditon for all of the plays at school, Major in Theater in College. Go to Graduate School and get an MFA in Theater. Agents prefer actors with an MFA.

Talent Agents and Casting Directors prefer actors with an Master of Fine Arts in Theater.
