I'm in the Drama club at my school and I love acting. It's like my life. I love everything about it. But I want some help with it and want to learn techniques. Does anyone know how much acting classes usually cost?

Thanks.

Prices vary widely depending on your location and the clout of the teacher or studio to which you'd be going. You really need to call the studios you are thinking of attending and ask them directly. Just be prepared with your list of questions before you call. Have a separate paper for each place that you call, write down who you spoke to, ask if there's a sign up fee, ask if you get the first class free so you can see if it's a good fit before you sign up, ask what type of classes they have for your age group, what type of activities they do (improv, scene study, on camera), is the class ongoing or is it a 6 week workshop type thing etc, what techniques do they teach (sanford meisner, stanislavsky, uta hagen) or do they focus strictly on 'hollywood' stuff, what's the educational background of their teachers, what's the professional backgroun of theri teachers...

Just make a list of questions that matter to you and ask each place the same questions then visit the ones you got satisfactory answers from that were within your price range.

Good luck!

This depends on where you are and who is teaching the classes. A former Artistic Director of a now-defunct Shakespeare troupe got $300 for a 10 week course, and each session was probably 1.5 to 2 hours in length. This is low. A bigger name could get more per hour. In NYC, you can, however, get lessons from working professionals for reasonable rates

Acting classes usually cost hundreds of dollar. Anywhere between $100-$400. If you want to know the actually estimate, then you would have to call up the school that you want to go to and tell them how long you would like to stay for.

You can spend anywhere from about $15 for a group class, up to $75 for individual coaching with a knowledgable pro.

You are asking the wrong people. To really find out, call the Acting School and ask. How simple. Costs will vary from place to place.
