Hi,
If you do a search here on answers you will see other answers to this question, as it comes up usually a couple of times each day. I answer this question a lot and so instead of writing the same or similar answers over and over again, I have created a 36-page ebooklet thatwill give you a lot of intormation as to what you need to do to get started. Just go to http://www.actingcareerstartup.com/acs-blog.html , sign in on the right side of the page and you can download it for free. It's called: What It Takes To Become An Actor.
The second resource is about getting an agent, although, if you have no training yet, then I doubt that you are ready, but here it is anyway: http://www.actingcareerstartup.com/how_to_get_an_agent.html . It takes you through a process that I used to get two agents and a personal manager in a short period of time in New York. Using the same process, I also got casting directors to actually start calling me in directly for auditions.
The third resource I can offer you is to go and take the Actor Quiz. It might give you some more clues as to what you will need to know and what you will want to be doing when you start your career. You’ll find it at: http://www.actingcareerstartup.com/actor_quiz.html .
A great book to read with regard to aceing an interview with an agent is Acting As A Business: Strategies For Success by Brian O'Neil. You can find that there as well: http://www.actingcareerstartup.com/acting_books.html
Hope that helps!
Tony

If you have not got started, you are not ready for an agent. So to get started, tryout for all the school plays and community plays you can. Go to the library and read books on acting and all the plays you can. The best person to help you is you. Go get experience, all you can and come back in a couple of years and ask again.

Hope this helps and to get an interview with an agent, you will have to go places where you know or thinks agents would go to. For example:
Studios
Acting Schools
Theaters
Usually during interviews with agents will also involve a resume. So make sure you create one BEFORE you get into to acting business. GOOD LUCK!!!

Acting is the right word. Obama has been acting from the beginning. One must say he does well with following the script that is laid before him. However that won't make him even a mediocre President. Its plain to see that he and his cronies have an agenda and that agenda is not what is best for America.

Start by auditioning for local highschool and children's theater; maybe summerstock, if they have it in your area. If you audition for something and don't get the part you wanted, be flexible and volunteer for props, costuming, etc; there is so much that goes into acting, that any part you take up will be of benefit to you later on.
