I wish my mom could say that to me..... I want to be an actress, but she groans whenever I mention it. I look at sites every week and nothing. What I'd do is ask your mom to take you to Hollywood. GOOD LUCK!

The others are right. The entertainment business is just that, a business and you need to do the work before you can get in or they will immediately write you off as just another kid with starts in their eyes who only want immediate fame and don't want to do what it takes to get there. Get some training first, then build a resume in theatre and some local student films and independents using info you find in www.backstage.com (casting search) and www.actorsaccess.com. Once you've had a good amount of training and built up a decent resume, send your headshot, resume and cover letter to:

I Group, LLC
29540 SOUTHFIELD RD., SUITE #200, SOUTHFIELD, MI 48076
Tel: 248-552-8842

Productions Plus
30600 TELEGRAPH ROAD, SUITE #2156, FRANKLIN, MI 48025
Tel: 248-644-5566

Talent Shop, The
30400 TELEGRAPH ROAD, SUITE #141, BIRMINGHAM, MI 48025
Tel: 248-644-4877

and then you wait to see if they call you to set up an interview. Please remember that legitimate talent agencies take 10% of your pay AFTER they help you get a job, not one cent before.

One more thing, please give this information to your mother and ask her to do some research for you. This is not something you should be doing on your own. There are too many scam businesses out there ready to take advantage of young people who are looking to get into the business. You need an adult looking out for your best interests so that you do not come across something that looks too good to be true and fall under it's spell.

good luck

Movies aren't the only way to get into acting. Without any experience, it's highly unlikely that you'll ever get into a movie. I would suggest getting into community theatre. Maybe find an acting coach or a voice teacher or get into some acting classes. Good places to look for local acting opportunities would be colleges and civic centers. Most colleges have at least one children's show each year, and the civic centers are the most common places for local theatre companies to perform.

Like the other guy said, it doesn't work like that. You have to take acting lessons from school, workshop, or private teacher. Audition for plays, or student films, or something of that nature. When you have built up a resume and have headshots, have your mom submit your photo to agents in Michigan. Movies don't advertise auditions on websites.......they go threw Sag Agents.
Tell your mom to go to Sag.org and find agents in Michigan. Call them and tell them if they could recommend some acting workshops for kids.

There are no web sites nor are there any other ways to magically make you an actress. You are going to have to be in school plays and take acting lessons, probably for many years, before you might be ready for professional work. That's the reality of it and that's the truth.
