You must have an agent. If you have one already then just ask him\her if they know of any commercial auditions. Specify "local" If your looking for one close because they can find ones all across the country.
If not then you'll need to find one. There should be a talent agency in your town. Look it up and call them. Tell them you hve a son who is interested in doing some acting.

*IMPORTANT* If the agent asks you for money, they're scamming you. Agents don't charge. Agents earn their money off your profit.

Good luck with your son.

Only through a legitimate agent. All commercials are cast through agents. Use the yellow pages and the internet to find an agency near you and find out how to submit him for representation by calling them. Remember and agent or agency who asks for any money for anything is a SCAM
Good luck, Doc

search for open casting calls in your area

*EDIT
Depends on where you live..if its in big cities like new york and LA...then alot of times they will have them in newspaper ads just look closely....you can try internet...over here in dallas every so often agencies go to malls and hold open casting for anybody wanting to do modeling acting singing...so you might want to call malls and see if they do that or go to your directory and find yourself an agency you like for your son..and they could help you alot since they have direct contact with the advertisers...these are just some ideas..hope it helps you

Your child needs a Talent Agent. Only a professional, such as a Talent Agent, or Casting Director, not your son's teachers, can determine if your son has what is required to work in commercials or television.
