People always say 'just be yourself' but sometimes i dont know what i really am. bcoz sometimes i act differently with my families than when i'm with my friends. i also act differently toward strangers. so which one is the real me?

One of my friend told me a thing about other person, who was bad mouthing about me. I did not confront the other person who was on one hand being nice to me but on other hand sending emails to people on my actions, and trying to picture me as a person who has no moral ethics or code of conduct ? I however asked a simple question on Y!A on whether one should trust a friend who betrays you? The person got the idea and she told my friend. My friend thought I had betrayed her trust and broke of a wonderful exchange of thoughts and friendship. In her words "i would never make yahoo a priority over people,that is sick, yahoo and points over friendship", but now the situation is different. She is refuses to talk to me, thinking I betrayed her trust ! How do I make her change her mind ? Its not that I cannot live without her friendship, but I do miss a candid thought exchanger, a person without bias, a truly interesting person !!

What is the nature of existence? Our Reason for being? The mechanism of how we come to exist?

I love that every person has their own belief, their own mythology. Even people who subscribe to the same belief system, interpret the belief in their own personal way. Every experience of life is a unique experience. There isn't one true way, there are 6,568,357,909 billion true ways according to http://www.worldometers.info/ So what do YOU believe to be true.

Please don't make any reference to scripture. Scripture is an accounting of someone elses inspired belief. I want to know your inspired belief. The belief which is uniquely your own.

I have a relative who suffers from mental illness, and has had several breakdowns. Each time this happens, he loses friends--or people don't call or come around. Some people take a negative approach, while others just turn their backs. He is in his early thirties and is not yet married. He has a very sad story--and I just am curious as to what you think.
