Maybe none of them is the real you.

Perhaps greater study in philosophy - the study of ideas and thought- can help you understand how to think clearly and consistently and to eliminate inconsistencies in your thoughts.

This study can help you whittle away the parts that are not you, and to eliminate the actions and practices which are not consistent with the real you.

When you get rid of all the thoughts, ideas and actions that are not the real you, then you will be able to be a much more consistent and real self. You will find there is no need to be a different inauthentic "self" for each and every different audience.

It will allow you to cut out all the wasted time and energy and resources used in creating and maintaining these different identities.

This creation and maintainance of alternate "identities" is one of the largest wastes of human potential in modern society, especially that of females.

Consider the whole fashion industry as a part of this marketing of creation of endless varieties of "identities" which one may try on for each different audience.

One true authentic identity, well-developed and refined, is more than sufficient for any one human.

I've heard before that the way you are when you're alone says a lot about who you are. I agree with that. When you're alone, you aren't being fake or trying to impress anyone. Sometimes the way you act with family or close friends shows who you are as well. It pretty much has to do with the type of person you are when you're not trying to impress anyone. That's what I've concluded, at least. :)

You sound just like me. Even though you act differently around different people, that doesn't mean that you're not being yourself. You're being yourself when you don't care what other people think about you. You're not trying to impress someone. You're just having a fun time without your mind going "Am i doing this right?" or "Will he/she get impressed when i do this?" and thoughts like that.

The real you is when you feel comfortable in your skin. You feel good about yourself and your actions. Being yourself is not following anybody else except what feels right for you. As long as you do that & you're not hurting anybody else you're good to go.

They are all you. We have different facets and personas. When you are a daughter to your mom you behave what a daughter should behave ie with respect to your mom. When your are a mother to your daughter you behave with authority (and love too). So it is not hypocrisy that you are behaving differently with different people, it's just who you are to them. With your friends you can behave crazy, treat each other as equals and fool around but not with your pastor or teacher or principal or boss.

When the internal monolog is silent and you are reacting truthfully to the outside world you are being yourself.

the real you is the 'you' from your family, because you know them so well, you act naturally when you are with them
