I think I have sucessfully avoided a scam, but I want to know for certain.

A literary agent was making noises about wanting to take my book, but mentioned that I would need to pay £350 as they get charged per manuscript they send in to a publisher.

Is this the case? Has anyone ever come across this before? Do publishers charge reading fees to Agents?

Obviously there is the good vs. evil theme but are there any other major themes, or even some underlying ones that come up every now and then? And what kind of symbols have you found in the books as well?

that fill from a bottle. I am somewhat late coming to the computer age, and the thought has come to me, "Perhaps I should start keeping my journal on the computer and print it out every week or so." It woud have several advanages, such as being quicker, and most of all, it would make it easy for people in the future to read it. I really believe that in a relatively short period of time, almost nobody will be able to real cursive handwriting. Writing styles change. My wife has a "journal" written by a relative in the 1800's, and I can not read it because of the style of writing at that time. But, then, am I writing it for someone to read in the distant future, or am I writing it for myself, in the "here and now?" I think, both, but writing it for me now is more important. After so many years of "taking my pen in hand," it would be hard to give up. I guess that I am just tied to the past and to the way things used to be, at my now ripe old age of 70. What do you think?

I loved the book Gone with the Wind, and the sequel Scarlett wasn't too bad. Now I've just heard that some guy wrote a book called Rhett Butler's People, telling the story from Rhett Butlers point of view. Have any of you already read it? Would you want to?

I've read Dune, Dune Messiah, The Children of Dune, and The God Emperor of Dune.

As far as I'm concerned Dune ended with the death of Leto II

Is there any incentive to reading the new books?

How do they compare?

I have to make a children's book as an assignment for school, and I want to know if what the story is based on was already taken.
What the story is about is:
An 8 year old girl steals money from her mom's wallet to buy her favorite skirt. She has nightmares that night and feels guilt inside, and decides to tell her mother. She finally confesses and her mother just gives her chores to do because of it. Helen isn't disappointed, she is full of relief from telling the truth.
I appreciate all that read this and answer this.

Addy was turning twenty today. There was nobody at her home, no presents on her table, not even a card for her in the mailbox- at least not yet - and for this reason she had been sitting in the same place for roughly an hour now, dreaming her future as she cuddled up with a book. It was a romance novel, her favorite actually, and although she’d read it at least five times it never seemed to grow old to her; regardless of the way the beloved always died at the end. And as usual, it amplified the melancholy feelings she always felt, which had already grown worse with the somber winter.

Ok, so I have this story I wrote up from having this dream I had a couple of months ago. So I have completed it, and have started looking for a publisher. I have found one, it is Trafford Publishing. I have looked at the pricings on their offers, and whoa!

I am going to need 600 - 1000 dollars to even get a few copies out on the shelves.

So what do I do? I can't make a commitment like that. Especially on something I don't even know is going to bring the money back in. I really don't even care about making profit, I just want a few copies to hand out and around. So what do I do? Does anyone know of a publisher? I would like to self publish, but I don't know how to do that. Help meeee!!

Cindy Cindy threw wind & rain you stand
like a statue on the window pane.

Meowing Meowing wondering when
this thunder rain will finally end.

When the thunder rain ends she jumps
off the pane and plays yet again.

Then it's night from what a day she goes
to sleep & awaits a brand new day.

Hope you like it :) ♥

I am 13 years old. I am writing a book, but its not even finished yet. My friend who is up-to-date on my writing of the book(more like an aquatince) tells me to try to get it published. Its a book thats aimed toward tweens or teens. I am a girl, and it has some love in it, yet it is also in a fantasy world with fighting creatures, and adventure. I always have had a good imagination, and my teachers say one day i will become a GREAT writer.

I was wondering how ot get it puplished, and if anyone will actually let me publish it because of my age.

THANKS A BUNCH!
