I have a need to know what good books there are for a 12 year old, with a mind like a 14-15 year old, who is an advanced reader and loves to read, but can't find books that interest her. She is not a big fan of horror, romance, most fantasy, most sci-fi, and old books (the oldest book she has read and liked was written in 1975). Hope you can help.

Just out of curiosity, what do you use for a bookmark? Do you own one of those fancy bookmarks or do you use a piece of paper or do you just fold the corner of the page?

I'd have to say mine is Michael Crichton. Robin Cook has great knowledge and imagination, but Crichton is the better writer.

I know that each has its advantages and disadvantages, but any opinions you have would be great. Also, my main concern is that I'm relatively new at the craft, so do you think one or the other would be easier for a newer writer? I'm also having trouble actually finishing a project, so I'm wondering if one or the other would be helpful for that.

I have always been amazed at how Stephen King could write at such a prolific rate and be so good. I see it today in James Patterson but his novels are just so-so. King has slowed down but his works continue. What one of his works has impacted you and why?

We have to do a 700+ essay for Jane Eyre and right now I only have a thesis. ---

Jane Eyre is an example of the changing role of women in Victorian literature by serving as a model of the difficulties which a woman had to overcome to achieve any sense of independence as a woman.

Can anyone help me with finding a couple of examples and ideas I could use to support it! Thanks in advance.

It's my first story. Is there any point submitting to print magazines or should I just try to get it published in an online magazine right away? How much can I expect to be paid for a 5000 word short story?

I commute 4 hours a day and have really gotten into books on CD. I'm wondering what other authors are similar to Robb/Roberts. There are so many CD's to choose from at the library.

Thanks for your help!

I'm trying to find a great title for my english paper. I am comparing two great books and would like to stay away from the A vs. B type of title.

I was thinking something along the lines of an expression.. like two peas in a pod.. but something that would mean that these are two great books that share many attributes.

Please help me if you can! It would be very much appreciated.
