Just out of curiosity, what do you use for a bookmark? Do you own one of those fancy bookmarks or do you use a piece of paper or do you just fold the corner of the page?

I use an index card. It's weird but it has to be a plain index card with nothing written on it or I freak out!

Gosh, I must be crazy!

I usually just use a piece of paper, a photo, a spoon...anything at hand. Every once in awhile I use a fancy bookmark, when I can find one. I don't fold the pages though!! It would mess up the book.

For the past 10 or 11 books I've read, I've used a postcard I bought at Yellowstone National Park. Storebought bookmarks seem to either slip out of the book or tear the pages of the book, so I tend to use a random piece of paper.

I don't like folding the pages of the books I own, I'd rather just remember the page number.

I don't own bookmarks anymore because I've forgotten all of them in library books which have now been returned.

No book lover dog-ears a page to mark the place unless it is a contemptible book.

Very often I use a piece of furniture. Really. Having a finger in my place in the book, I set the book on the floor where I replace my finger with a table leg or chair leg. This works fine if there aren't small children or curious pets in the house.

If the book has a dust jacket or there is a slip of paper handy, I'll use one or the other.

I use a piece of paper I have with me, a hair pin, envelopes. I used to use fancy bookmarks, but not any more no money or time to find them. Alos my kids would run off with them.

Just a piece of paper from one of those little counter-top note pads. And I never fold pages, it marks the pages.

I seem to lose any bookmark that I buy so I've started using sticky notes. Never dogear a page as it defaces the book.
